Let me just say, the last two sets of HFS that Old Dollars has produced are abso-fucking-lutely gorgeous. |thumb

The Perfect Gonzo stuff does not have a title.

We have a simple philosophy with HFSLinks.com - you get what we get.

If the sponsor builds shit sites with no titles or descriptions, then you get a list of shit sites with no titles or descriptions :D

I meant in the admin they are coming through with no titles.

I never got as far as to actually look at the sites to know if they have titles or whatever as I'm way too fucking lazy to actually add in sites that aren't provided with a suggested title.

If they don't have titles in the admin, odds are there's not titles on the sites & every site looks identical.

2 sponsors got emails or posts from me today suggesting they have these moron design companies read thru our HFS threads.

Just looked at their actually HFS and you are correct. :(

We are currently working 100 new ones from Evil Angel Cash. They do not have titles or descriptions

Leaving a field out without warning makes for a big mess when importing if it isn't caught until after the import. |banghead|

Maybe we need an option for sites only with titles and descriptions.

About that issue I nagged about last time (order by date added). Your update is working great |thumb

Celo, sorry we added to your head banging. I have been pretty good about adding users' request for enchancements. Be sure after the New Year I will attempt to add a feature to filter out hfs' without titles and/or descriptions. In the mean time, I will place a warning in my updates here on the board.

Being a free service, it is impossible to do something that is the sponsors' responsibility.

Hmmm well I didn't know we were adding as is.. so the ones i've been approving i've been putting Titles, descriptions etc.. on them..Filling in whatever is missing.. this is probably why on this batch there are so many without since I needed to excuse myself from this round. |cry|

Just remember - there is one sponsor that we all use that has no titles or descriptions in their admin for their HFS's.

While HFS Links may have stopped writing titles and descriptions for HFS which don't have them (and I don't blame them for not wanting to do it), it was something they used to do. SO if you're looking to populate a new database with HFS and you want titles and descriptions for some which don't have them at the sponsor sites, you'll definitely do better getting them from HFS Links site.

At one time I was going to suggest that there was potential for a premiun/paid version of HFS Links, where all free sites had titles and descriptions, were pre-checked for working links, and where the exported data included the counts of the pics or video clips in the hfs, and maybe even a way to choose between using links for PPS or revshare (or $1 trials, whatever), and maybe being able to include a campaign code in the links for sponsors who track campaigns.

But then I realized that what GG posted is very true. If the sponsor doesn't have the sense to include titles and descriptions, then their hfs themselves are usually the worst examples of what you get from using builders with no hfs-building experience. And there's no way to fix a bad hfs, only the sponsors can do that. I've sent more than a few emails to sponsors pointing them to the hfs threads here, but maybe 1 out of 10 even seems to understand or care what they're doing wrong. And almost none of them have bothered to fix anything.

I guess the good news is for the independent free site builders who know what they're doing. There's stilll a lot more opportunity in the free site game since sponsors haven't yet produced the 100s of thousands of good hfs that link lists could use.

I would just like an option to not have ones with titles/decriptions mixed in with the ones that don't.

I supply the bandwidth
.. and every site has a title..
.. would you like me to send the traffic as well?

If you can't write descriptions... get an outsourcer... there are plenty around :D
