You think there is a market for mobile porn?
 

Unless you have been hiding under the proverbial rock you have probably seen analysts reports about the future growth of mobile content. Do you think the growth will apply to adult content?

I'm tempted to think "no". What normal person would watch porn while wating for the bus or in public? I would think that most people woud preferr to jerk off in privacy and watch porn on something larger than a little monitor on a mobile device.

However, I'm often wrong. So do you think there is a future for porn on mobile devices?

I look at this the same way I looked at digital photography way back in the early to mid 90's. Many photogrpahers were freaking out about the cost etc. But the fact remained the technology was there and no matter what anyone does will most likly be used in full force at some time. This mobile stuff is not going away. I honestly don't think it has anything to do with the size or where you would be viewing it. It's more that you can view it if you want, where you want. It would not surpise me to find people belonging to sites that they joined on their home systems rubbing one out in the workroom bathroom from their portible device. I don't think this is going to take away from the regular surfing/buying habits but only add one more possible way for you to get sign ups. I have joined sites that my friends have shown me while at work. Only now people don't have to run and hide or try to show you super quick as not to get in trouble. They can just show you on their portible durring lunch. That's another possible sale.

Years ago, someone told me that if I wanted to be cutting edge, then I should sell mobile porn. Years later, it still seems to be the dumbest and slowest growing concept. If fact, I wouldn't say it's growing as much as it's simmering in its own stale juices. Think high def. Think movies. Think bigger screen resolutions. Think about me in the shower, lathering my shaved head.

I think mobile porn will have a future in a couple of years, screens still need to be a tad better and larger on most phones, but when mobile companies figure that out, porn will become mobile aswell.

I did promote the shit out of the mobile & portable porn sites last year from Dec thru Feb. I pushed the fact that people got cell phones & iPods & PSP's & whatnot for Christmas & you know they're gonna put some porn on there, so why not go to a site that's built for them.

The sales I made were not worth the time it took to make the text/table ads.

All this after I openly laughed at the cell phone porn fad from the beginning of 2005 - I guess I was right.

You know it really doesn't take that much effort to adapt a site to mobile technology (at least not if you're presenting static images). If you design a site around the XHTML specs you're pretty much going to accomplish compatibility with most cell phones around today. The other side benefit of XHTML is you're going to show up higher on the search engine side of things since it's easier for the spiders to digest your site (at least that's been my experience). Simply make sure your site meets the XHTML 1.0 Transitional doctype and you really shouldn't have too many problems with any mobile devices. Checking your site with validator.w3.org to find out if it meets the spec is the best thing you can do. Example: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=www.adultpicweb.com
