What are AB, A-B-C trades exactly?
Can someone explain exactly what A- B -C trades and A-B trades are?
Also looking for a good Recip link checker, any suggestions. |
a-b meaning I link you from me1.com to You1.com and vice versa
a-b-c meaning I link me1.com to You1.com but You1.com links me2.com reading it back now sounds funny :-) |

Your two are called mysite1.com and mysite2.com my two are called yoursite1.com and yoursite2.com.. An AB link is you link to yoursite1.com from mysite1.com and I link back the same way. What has always been a standard reciprocal link, you link to me I link to you. An ABC link and looked on better by google would be something link: yoursite1.com links to mysite1.com and in return mysite2.com links to yoursite1.com then you could add yoursite2.com links to mysite2.com and in return mysite1.com links to yoursite2.com I think this is right, I have confused myself now.. |
Still confusing saucy because it still looks like both my 2 sites will be linking to both of your sites, no!

saucypanties links to greenguyandjim pantiessaucy links to linkorama I have given Greenie two links. In return he gives me greenguyandjim links to pantiessaucy linkorama links to saucypanties There is NO link from greenguyandjim back to saucypanties. We have both given each other two links but not reciprocal ones. If you only had one site called blue and I had two websites called red and green, as an ABC link I could offer you a link to blue from red but I want you to link back from blue to green in return... Google see's these as non reciprocal so they weigh heavier |

Vivaldi's post was simple and correct. You know what I do with A-B-C link swaps? I delete them after about three months because I can't remember why I'm linking to a page that isn't linking to me. |angry

As for the explanation of ABC it looked good as I was writing it |catfight

An abc trade would only have three sites (You link to my site "A" from your site "B", I link to your site "B" from my site "C").
If my site "A" was new and had a PR of 0, no one would want to trade with it. Now, if I give you a link back from a PR3 or higher site (C) then you (B) might trade with me and help site "A". |goodidea It also helps established sites as there is no reciprocal link. Now my brain hurts and it needs a rum & coke. |drunk
Is there any open source link checker software? :)
I tried to found some but i found nothing |cry
I personally havent tried this plugin but it's Orange Cows Trade. Can't tell you anything about it...if works and how well etc. but it's out there.

Anyway, have you an affiliate link and I will purchase it through that if you have. Tina |
Believe it or not, I don't have a ref code....
As far as your html pages, you could setup your .htaccess to allow you to parse the php in an html page. See this thread |
Have installed Orange Cows on one of my blogs but am having issues with it and am trying to sort it out right now.
Looked at Links Organizer and also at another program called Reciprocal Manager. Any feedback. Also can I have some feedback on my usage of Technorati tags on my blogs. Am I overusing them. I am entering them manually (a tool created them for me then I cut and paste) ut I want to automate this somehow. Is there a plugin that puts them in this format? Do I need the after every post? |
Ultimate Tag Warrior, its kind of a confusing plugin but it's very adaptable. It takes some wading to get through the documentation but well worth it in the end.
First it removes the links to technorati, creates a page on your own website called tags and then it can interlink all your related posts. You do not have to link to technorati to have them pick up your tags when you ping them. |
Is there any true value to having technorati's tags on your blog? |huh I see them as nothing more than a traffic leak. I'd rather let everyone else leak their traffic to technorati and see if any sifts down my way from their pages. ;)

As far as technorati goes, I suspect I'm picking up more spam traffic from them than productive traffic. |
Cool. I was hoping there wasn't something I was missing (and there often is). I love tagging. I use UTW on my top secret blog - on all 3 posts. ;) But technorati and delicious tags seem like a nice way to drive traffic to their ads, and no real gain for the site using them. I think of tagging as a means of dynamically creating unlimited categories or classifications. Who ever invented tagging definately deserves a cookie.

I came up with the following description a couple days ago. This relates to A-B-C linking with a blog directory:
Smart Linking (also known as A-B-C linking) is a way to get a higher ranking on search engines: you place 8 links on your blog that point to 8 blog directories. But these 8 blog directories won't link to your blog. Instead 8 other blog directories will link to your blog. This way we are not trading links directly, this will result in a higher search engine ranking for your blog. Blog Submitter now does support A-B-C linking: http://www.adultblogresource.com/submitter/ |
