Ping list?

Seems we have'nt had this subject brought up in quite some time. Curious if there are places I am missing? Here's my list, although, I know I need to remove some:

http://rpc.pingomatic.com/
http://1470.net/api/ping
http://api.feedster.com/ping
http://api.moreover.com/ping
http://api.moreover.com/RPC2
http://api.my.yahoo.com/RPC2
http://api.my.yahoo.com/rss/ping
http://blog.goo.ne.jp/XMLRPC
http://blogdb.jp/xmlrpc
http://bulkfeeds.net/rpc
http://coreblog.org/ping/
http://ping.bitacoras.com
http://ping.blo.gs/
http://ping.bloggers.jp/rpc/
http://ping.blogmura.jp/rpc/

My Ping List:

http://rpc.pingomatic.com

Pingomatic then pings the following services:
Weblogs.com
Blo.gs
Technorati
Feed Burner
Syndic8
NewsGator
Feedster
My Yahoo!
PubSub.com
Blogdigger
BlogRolling
BlogStreet
Moreover
Weblogalot
Icerocket

Notice one of those services is Feed Burner. Now using feed burner's ping shot the following services get pinged:
Technorati
My Yahoo
Bloglines
PubSub
Newsgator
icerocket
Weblogs.Com
Blogdigger
Syndic8
Google Blog Search Pinging Service

Notice there is a few duplicates but since feedburner doesn't make some of these optional I'm stuck with them. Besides most people use a ping list like ronnies so most people duplicate pings much more than I do.

Thanks for the reply. So maybe I have too many duplicates? Ya, guess if I am hitting feedburner and pingomatic.

Reminding me again to check my feedburner settings.

I know it's basic but have to ask this: how!? I mean where do I set pinging preferences!? what is the best way to do it!?

So far I've used http://pingomatic.com/ and didn't think much about it

On a WP blog, it's under options / writing at the bottom under update services.

Basicly, I only care about getting Technorati, My Yahoo and Google pinged. The half dozen uniques a month I get from all the others wouldn't warrant having to do the work for if I actually had to do anything.

OK WP .. fount it .. i'm using on fe movable type so i guess it's back to their help panel :-)

For information....see here http://www.google.com/help/blogsearc...t_pinging.html

Feedburner is the only pinging service I've seen that says it pings Google Blog Search

Although not much traffic, they could be seen as linkbacks, if thats worth anything to anybody..;) Just a thought.

and a valid one....but now the question becomes have you checked and or submitted your site to them. Some do require you submit your blog, much like technorati and I'd bet most of them really don't take adult.

Oh and I admit...I haven't done my homework in this area as thoroughly as I should.

ronnie 2007-01-18 06:22 PM

Oh ya, very true about submitting your blogs, I dont think I ever have. Think Feedburner was the only one I have. Well, i take that back, think there was twice I went through a list I found and submitted, but probably not all of them and if I even submitted to the services I ping. I only think, many of these places are pretty big and could be a powerful linkback. But like you said, if you get listed.

Ya, we know how many places dont like adult content. Big reason I am working in mainstream...:)
