Video Galleries

I have recently got into working with videos. I know I need to host them and not just link out to them. I want to put some pages together but I only know how to do text links. How do you get img's of the clips? I want to have the surfer click an img rather then a text link? I have to have the img to go with the video right? Can I make an img from the clip itself?

If you're running Windows you can make screencaps with Windows Movie Maker.

A great video editing tool you could use for your work is Sony Vegas

Give it a try ;)

I'm using Frame Shots that J3sUS183 recommended for making the thumbs. It is very easy to use and makes nice quality thumbs in the size you specify. Download the trial version and give it a try. The full version is $30.

I agree with Lemmy. Windows Movie Maker lets you "grab" an image from a video clip anywhere in the clip. Just run the video and click the camera icon when you want an image. If you don't like it, delete it and start over. Very easy.

Hey thanks guys ya I am using widows. I have never heard of that program. Do you have a link? I will google it and see what I can come up with. Thanks a lot. Ya I was also wondering how they put in the pornsite.com in the cornor of the vids but actually it sounds easy.

Thanks to all.

I went to microsoft and found a lot of extentions for it, but didnt find the program. I googled it and looked it up in yahoo, and came up with download.com which I was kind of thinking anyway. When I tried to download it over there it didnt work and I got and low memory error message. Lol So I dont know what that was, something not good I bet.

Can you use windows movie maker to take a clip that is 1 minute long and spit it into 4 of 25s?

Maj. Stress 2007-01-26 02:27 AM

Spock,
I haven't actually tried it myself but looking at movie maker there is a button to split a video into two seperate videos at the selected frame. So I will assume you could take a one minute clip cut it in half and repeat. :)

A good program, or mybe the best for getting thumbnails from video is http://www.videocharge.com if you prefer to make them in realtime at your server, ffmpeg is the tool you have to install.

You mean 4 clips of 15 seconds each? YES. I downloaded some 30 min. movies from a sponsor and made 6 20 sec. clips. The hardest part was deciding which parts of the whole movie I wanted to use. :D

With Movie Maker I found that when I import the video into the program, it chops up the video into many small chunks, anywhere from 1second up to 40 seconds or so. You may have to click and drag several small chunks into the timetable to get over the amount you need, then chop it down to the desired length.

While you can cut up movies with WMM I find it very cumbersome. A much better solution is Easy Video Splitter.

Thanks Lemmy for showing me that. I didnt know that was on my computer, I feel like an ass lol.

I second that, excellent tool. Try the free trial and you will be purchasing the licence in no time.
