Low spirits
Whatcha doin' when you're in a bad mood and low spirits? Don't wanna go back to work... |confused|
|
I always say you have to have a hobby in this business. I used to do a lot of woodworking but since I moved, I don't do it as much. So, in the summer, I ride my bike and in the winter, when there is room, I work on my bike. My bike turns 11 this year and it still looks brand new. :)

When I'm in a bad mood I enjoy hanging out at a coffee shop with my friends !
After that ... back to work :D |
I lay in bed and wait for it all to end. My wife comes home, asks if I've been in bed all day. I reply meekly, yes. Then she tells me to get off my lazy fucking ass and goes on and on about how she's been working her ass off all day while I've been in bed feeling sorry for myself.
That usually brings me back. |
I just do a whole lot of drugs

Everyone gets into one of these moods from time to time. Take a couple days off from the computer completely - try from now til Monday. Just relax, have some offline fun & see how you feel when you come back.

sometimes you just have to step away...often I try to sleep it off

What greenie said and treat yourself to something that makes you happy while taking the time off like an orgy or something |thumb

Get away from the computer and do something else that requires you to move. Go for a walk, see a museum or ride a bike. If nothing in your area interests you then go some place else and spend the night. Nothing like walking around a new city to give you a new perspective.

When I'm depressed I hit the neighborhood pub, lots of good friends there and pretty ladies to flirt with :D |
I just get away from civilisation. My father has a holiday chalet in the country with no 'phone, no TV, and NO COMPUTER. If he is not using it I borrow that for a few days and get away from civilisation. If someone else is using it I'll rent a caravan for a few days/week.
Or occasionally I'll go to some really trashy coastal town (the type that are all bright lights and tawdry attractions to separate you from your money), stay in a B&B, and behave like a tourist for a while. However the one thing I do that keeps me sane (and healthy) is look after a friend's dogs for a few hours each weekday while he is at work. This involves long walks, usually along the canal towpath. I strongly recommend doing a similar thing (with or without dogs) in whatever your local "trees 'n' stuff" type area is, at least four times a week. |

exactly. I turn the music on and just space listening to a record that is good from start to finish. |
This is a good thread, and I wish I had an answer for it.
But it's nice to know that you're not alone isn't it? |

You know the best way to be able to work is to love it. I mean, your work. My mood always raises when I come to work. Nope, really. And the point is not money. It gives me an opportunity to develop myself. And I do always have a phone to call my girlfriend, who stimulates me. |cheerlead |
