question about story content
I have been spending some time working on story sites and a type of hub for it. I was comparing stats in sextracker and noticed a site (have seen the site for years) and when i checked it out it was filled with pedo stories and promoted rape, pr*teen sex and some other stuff.
Now, no matter what, that is a subject i would never touch and think is discpicable, but is there nothing legally wrong with it? I am all for an individuals rights and free speech, but some things like this really makes me want to do great bodily harm to them. Escpecially now that i have a beautiful 8 month old daughter. |
Some people are being prosecuted for such stories. What will happen if such a case reaches the Supreme Court is any one's guess. Someone will need enough money to actually get a case that far.
No matter what the legal outcome is, it's sick and shouldn't be posted. I don't want to touch anything that's degrading much less use description about illegal actions. |
Depends on a country..

Slippery slope...

Cencoring the written word, prosecuting and incarcerating people for their writings. Now there's a slippery slope if there ever was one.
I hate pedos and sexual predators as much as the next guy. I don't necessarily hate all authors who include such material in their books. I understand the difference between a story with passages that might seem distateful, but are "valid" as parts of a greater work of fiction, and a smut story written by and aimed solely at a twisted, sick audience, but I'm not sure if we can make that distinction work legally. The whole idea just sounds too much like thought control too me. |
Its amazing the things you hear webmasters that supposedly are fighting for the right to free speech post - Larry Flynt must have ringing ears right about now

When Japanese comics are translated into English for sale on the American market, they sometimes have to change the age of characters because they are 'old enough' in Japan but 'underage' in America.
Ironically it is illegal to publish peado stories in England, but I would guess that some of our stories have to be adapted for America because the minimum age here is 16, whereas in the USA it is 18. |
I'm sure in the general scheme of things there are several shades of grey and it definately is a slippery slope. Opening the door for 1 thing could start the ball rolling on many other things. I agree 100%.
Now the other side of me, one that doesn't care how hypocritical it is, wants to do everything i can to harm people that write, shoot, hell even think about children in a sexual way. I understand what some are saying about differences in consent ages and whatnot. I know different places and different times have different "legal" ages, but the one i saw was directly being promoted as "p*do" and "prete*n" sex. When your talking about 6,7,8,9,10 year olds, i dont care the time or place it is wrong. They are directly catering to pedophiles and , in my opinion, anyone that gets turned on or wants to read that is a pedophile. So, although i can see the point of not wanting the government step in and start a landslide, i find the shit dispicable as i'm sure you all do. Maybe governments not the answer, but i'd still like to get my "pretty little hands" on any of them i could. Again this isn't about "legality" in general, it's about a certain site i saw. I appreciate all the input. I'm sure this is something that could go on and on. |
