Just curious

Hi,

What is the average income from this business? Can someone help with me? If you setup couple of good sites that direct people to sites where they can buy services, can you make money fr|confused| |confused| om this business?

SheepGuy 2007-02-13 10:14 PM

Yes

Preacher 2007-02-13 11:12 PM

No

(at least not without tons of work, a good deal of time and more patience then preacher -- present company excluded)

Can you make money in this biz? Yes

Can you make money by putting up a "couple of good sites that direct people to sites where they can buy services..."? Probably not.

I got back into the biz in the Fall of '03 after a lengthy hiatus. Started over from scratch. It was six months before I was earning enough to cover just my hosting bill.

My best advice, learn how to generate, filter and direct traffic, then you can make money in this business. But don't plan on getting rich, at least not without years of hard work. The days of easy money are long ago gone.

SheepGuy 2007-02-14 02:04 AM

Preacher and Toby are right.
My answer is still Yes, but with a big Maybe.
It sure as shit isn't as easy as it once was. I'm almost finished work for the day and it's 1:50 a.m. in my part of the universe. I started at 1:00 p.m. and took a break for the hockey game, though I worked during commercials. I should be done by about 3:00 a.m.
Still didn't get everything done I wanted to do today, and I'll get less done tomorrow with it being Valentine's Day and I haven't got together with whats-er-name in a while, and she is a hottie!
It's fucking sad the extremes I'll go to to avoid getting a real job ;)

It can be long hours but being your own boss is worth it.

No money to be made, too much competition.

bDok 2007-02-16 11:36 AM

It really will take years of work.

What is the average income for an experienced webmaster??

Thanks for the replies folks.
I was actually wondering the numbers...
How much do experienced webmasters make in this business?
Is there an average income? How to start with?
Can you make 500 a month? 1000 a month? 3000 ?
|confused|

oldbrad 2007-02-18 07:46 PM

yes.

Too be honest, its like asking how much a working person would make. There are so many variables.

People who make it the biggest can make millions. Others make 0 dollars. Most make somewhere in between.

ronnie 2007-02-18 07:55 PM

Depends on how hard and smart you work. The sky is the limit.
