That's why most of us have the "No FPA" rule in place

yup I agree even if it's not a full FPA, seems though more submitters are using that main page layout, and try and hide the gallery links

I been letting some slide but gonna clamp down on it

Good for you |thumb

I feel that goes more along the lines of the template rule. If submitters are changing their templates like they should be you should hardly notice it.

Thats just my opinion on it |thumb

I am dipping my toe into free sites. One thing I notice while compiling a list of people to submit to is that if I can't find the entrance to the LL content then I don't put them on my slowly growing list. It would seem only fair if a LL has content that is easily found then a FS should too? If you have a template with tiny little hidden gallery links then maybe submit them to the LLs that have the same?

you kinda thread hi-jacked with your noob thoughts.

in regard to the thread. I just can't figure out why people make it sooo hard to find the gallery links. If you show the goods and make things easy to navigate I feel that just allows the surfer to navigate around nicely keeping things flowing and hopefully flowing into the tour and then their hand flowing into their pocket to get out the CC.

When I first began building freesites, I received advice (not from this board, but another board) explaining I should make it hard for the "freeloaders" to find the content. Instead I should get them off to my sponsor and save my bandwidth.

So, I think it may be where you learn from and who you choose to listen to.

fair play. Just my logic. I think a determined surfer that doesn't want to pay isn't going to pay. So making it easy for the person that might pay to get the taste and click on to the paysite tour is a good plan. Plus it seems a lot of link lists might frown upon making things like enter buttons hard to find, etc. to get content. Whatever works though.

rock n roll. |headbang|

Fully agree with what you say. Was just stating how someone might start out building in that manner, I no longer follow that belief. |thumb

i think you guys have good points. I look at it this way. I personally, as a surfer, hate the fpa's and larger hpa's. People have been using the large ads with small gallery links underneath for several years, so i think the only ones anymore that may be sent off to the sponsor prematurely would be newbie surfers.

I think the "freeloaders" are prolly very used to seeing it and know where they may be anyway, so i'm more for a straight thru approach myself with obvious links to content and don't go over standard size banners. I like to use maybe 2 or 3 lines of text with the banner.

This approach is working very well for me on the small scale i'm at now. Several years ago i did the hpa and small links method and it also worked well, but think maybe it's overdone. Also i have a 99% rate of being accepted, so i don't want to take a chance of not being..

Thats my own perspective.
