Recip tables question

Free site builders. How do you decide who's recip will go with whom on a recip table. I see some LL that ask to be placed with this bigger name or that one or sometimes three minimum larger link lists, and I honestly don't blame them but you can't put everyone on a single table. I really would like to go with their preferences but can't quite figure out how.
Will this be a case of you can't please everyone?

You can always mix and match a bit. What I mean is you could split up your larger LL recips and mix in the medium and smaller ones on each table. Maybe using a few large LL's per table?

Don't even waste time thinking about it, just plop down the submits however you want and move on.

Hi, I used long time ago a 2 row table
on top the major sites like from GG and Tommy for example
then below smaller link lists.

most important I think is that you dont have a huge recip farm

regards

Agreed |thumb

Yes, there are a few sites out there that want to be listed with the big dogs. Very rarely is it one of the big dogs that feels the need to state such things...actually, I'm not aware of any that do so.

If you run across a site that insists on such, or is declining your sites due to it...I'd say drop em and move on.

The sneaky fucks won't say it on their submit page, or on this board, they send you a PM and tell you you weren't listed because you have "poor recip grouping". |bullshit|

Well, all righty then...I stand corrected |banghead|

That's news to me...wasn't aware anyone was doing that...I certainly don't...

In which case, ignore my previous comments on the subject...and best o luck |thumb

Totally agree - if you are running into sites that want to be on a specific recip group or wont list you because of it - tell them to take a flying leap(they are obviously deluded) and replace them with some LLs that will accept your submissions and be glad to do it :)

I agree with this too. It seems the ones that always want to be grouped with the "big LL's" are the ones that don't have much traffic anyways. Screw em! |bullshit|

As time goes on you'll find that you'll be often changing your recip tables anyway, adding and changing LL's.

You most certainly can't please everyone, so just please the most important person - yourself! :)

Cheers

Excellent advice from everyone!! I shall take it all.
Licker thanks for the pm, your tables seem sensible.
You guys are correct the major link lists don't seem to have a lot of demands beyond common sense and fair play.

HowlingWulf 2007-03-02 06:05 PM

I just randomize the tables, but I only submit to 30 or so of the best GGAJ approved link sites. If someone doesn't like who they're grouped with, well better luck next time I guess, but I've never received a response about grouping...

Chimera - thanks for bringing this up |thumb the same question has crossed my mind and I'm pretty sure we got the same pm/email. During my first month at this, I’ve seen at least 7 LL’s that have made the same assertion|crazy| – and a few of the LL owners are active on this board.

After shaking my head in frustration, I finally decided to just mix my recip tables up and have had great luck getting accepted by almost every LL that I've submitted to - some of them have even sent back much appreciated helpful tips.

I've also started my own "blacklist" of LL's that I'm not going to waste the time on. One of them has had an error in their script for the past month. I've sent emails but no fix |banghead| - so they were the first on my blacklist. Our other friend was the second. It's not worth my time, getting the recip, placing it in the table, ftping the site out, going through the submission process, only to have an error on their script. I’ll work with them but a month later and the error is still there – time to move on. That said, there are a few LL’s that are on my “always use” list. And I do try to place them with a few of the big guys.

Now – if I can just get my neck surgery done so I can sit at the computer for more than 10 minutes without being in excruciating pain…… (then I might remember to scroll down to the right cat before hitting the submit button on |greenguy|'s link-o-rama).

some ll going to far with their demands...i agree with most of you, you should skip that ll, and go on...

JD 2007-03-05 09:01 PM

I think its a 'given' that you at least put the larger ones together, I do that just for etiquette or good manors. When you get to the others that arent right in the biggest group of course then just mix and match them.
