Good Snowy Monday, again

It snowed all night again. :( I think I may just let it melt. :) Other than watching snow melt, I am working on something new today...finally. :)

Mr Exotic 2007-03-05 08:06 AM

Woke up at 4:30 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep, so I went ahead and started working. Already got the majority of stuff I planned on doing today done. Maybe today I can actually get to some of those things I have been putting off. Have a great day everyone :)

Spring is comming on quick here, and still more work to be done.

Have a groovy day

Ramster 2007-03-05 08:56 AM

Good Morning.

Found a new home we're putting an offer on today. Otherwise that's all I got.

digifan 2007-03-05 08:58 AM

Good day,
I am struggling with migraines here, doh. Other than that I have nothing.

Simon 2007-03-05 08:59 AM

Good morning world |waves|

Finally got some cooler weather down here. It's in the 60s this morning and may only get up to 70 later. I can actually wear shoes, and shirts with sleeves again for a couple of days.

Still dealing with unpacking boxes, plus furniture delivery(s) this week, and really need to decide on which flat screen HD tv to get. Those damn plasma vs LCD battles are still fighting it out in my brain (seems like the plasma arguments are winning at this time).

Morning updates done, so time to make more coffee, finish reading the board, and get on with the day.

A great week to all.

:)

Cleo 2007-03-05 09:14 AM

It is a bit chilly here this morning and I do have a mild cold so it is kind of a wintery day.

Just a day of work and cold meds planned for today.

Happy Back Hoe Monday Everyone |waves|

We had a gas leak yesterday that pretty much filled the house. I was down in the Pool House & The Bitch & my step-daughter were out. When they got home, I came up to the house & we all smelled that lovely rotten egg scent that they put in natural gas. So we grabbed the animals, opened a lot of windows, shut off the furnace, went to the Pool House & called the contractor & the heating guy.

When they got here they fiddled with the furnace a bit (it's fine), the put soapy water on the pipe connections (they were fine) and we scratched our heads as to where the fuck the gas was coming from. Then the hearing guy took a whiff near the conduit that's used to run the electricity to the garage & there it was.

We assume there is a leak outside underground (probably under my fucking cement patio) & the gas was seeping thru the conduit as well as the seam where the new addition is in the basement. Once the gas to the Pool House was turned off, the smell pretty much went away (but you can still smell it if you put your nose next to the wall where the new addition meets the existing basement)

So now my Pool House has no heat, which is not good because the pipes down there seem to freeze up every other year (even if the water is turned off) The coldness is also not good for the plasma TV, so there's an electrical heater sitting next to it keeping it nice & toasty.

So, sometime around noon, the back hoe guy will be here digging a large hole in my backyard for the 5th time in 6.5 years |banghead|

|yawn| Morning..

I don't have anything but after reading |greenguy| gassy tale, i am glad nothing serious happened to any of you. Patios can be replaced...so can plasmas..you cannot!!

|waves| off to grocery shop before the hordes escape.

Cleo 2007-03-05 10:09 AM

Crushing sheets of ice sliding off of roofs. Pipes freezing when the gas is shut off. Being snowed in. All off a sudden an occasional hurricane doesn't seem so bad. Now if we could just figure out how to disinfect all the snow birds before they come here bringing their colds with them this would be paradise.

Greenguy 2007-03-05 10:14 AM

DAMN IT! Cleo is finding ways to rebuff our "I'll take snow over (insert natural disaster here)" theory |banghead|

Cleo 2007-03-05 10:16 AM

I do have my windows open this morning enjoying some of this lovely fresh air but am going to turn the A/C back on before it gets too hot.

Useless 2007-03-05 10:36 AM

If you think the snow and the ice suck, you should see what happens when it all begins to melt. :D My wife, who works in the insurance industry, got a call yesterday from a woman complaining about 2 feet of water (from melting snow) flooding her basement apartment. "Sorry, that's not covered."

I have a theory that eventually insurance companies will force us all to live in Arizona, Texas or a handful of other states where extreme weather systems don't often visit.

docholly 2007-03-05 10:55 AM

A "friend" of mine just sent me this picture to remind me what i'm moving back to. Glad the city gets plowed before Oswego!!

Oswego, and many of those central NY towns named by natives, show how insane the white man was. Why would we want Oswego? Why? When I was in basic training, I hated being asked where I was from. When people hear "New York", they think city - not realizing that the vast majority of the state is forest, mountain and farm land, almost completely inhabited by rednecks. And Yankee rednecks are the worst. They don't even know what to be ignorant about. :D

Mornin' y'all,

Got a late start, still not moving at full speed yet.

|coffee is still on, help yourself...

Boy thats a fact - after living upthere for a few years I had to get down to the south where rednecks at least know what they are stupid about :)

Well - after a great start to the day Im totally worn out from all the running - payroll is done, state monthly sales tax is done, all 9 of my tax returns are send or wired, my new RV is tagged, and the dogs finally have a few hundred more pounds of their favorite food

Now if I had just remembered I was out of food too |jester|

Not Texas. I mean in the words of Barbara Bush when asked about Katrina, "They all came to Texas and heaven for bid, they might stay here".

...and many of them did. Also, the Texas gulf coast catches a hurricane every few years too. In fact there was one not long after Katrina that did some major damage along the TX/LA border.

Afternoon all. That snow pic is just intense. They have for sure had enough snow. Coffee is in full effect right now. Time to get onto coding. Have a good start of the week everyone.

Cheers,
