Have you Protected you computer for Daylight Savings Time?

Seems that most computers out there are preprogrammed (via the oper. sys) to change on the wrong date this year - since the government has shifted the start 3 weeks forward(for some stupid idiotic political reason) - but forgot that all of the computers are set for the standard time change date

You thought Y2K was bad - just wait till the shit hits the fan on this one - entire corporations down and out - the stock market crashes - planes fall out of the sky - ad nauseum |jester| |bananna| |waves|

Thanks Linkster. I used the url you provided to check my computer and it's all up to date and ready (fingers crossed!) for DST. Now I just hope that our cell phones change to the correct time on Saturday. What a pain!

Greenguy 2007-03-08 08:58 AM

I went to do MS's update & it told me I already had it |thumb

So, what if you're on your cell phone at 1:59am, and end the call at 3:01am -- a 2 minute call.

How much airtime would a provider bill. :)

That's great, it starts with an earthquake, birds and snakes, an aeroplane and Lenny Bruce is not afraid.
Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn - world serves its own needs, dummy serve your own needs.
Feed it off an aux speak, grunt, no, strength, Ladder start to clatter with fear fight down height.
Wire in a fire, representing seven games, a government for hire and a combat site.
Left of west and coming in a hurry with the furies breathing down your neck.
Team by team reporters baffled, trumped, tethered cropped.
Look at that low playing! Fine, then.
Uh oh, overflow, population, common food, but it'll do.
Save yourself, serve yourself.
World serves its own needs, listen to your heart bleed dummy with the rapture and the revered and the right, right.
You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright light, feeling pretty psyched.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

Six o'clock - TV hour. Don't get caught in foreign towers.
Slash and burn, return, listen to yourself churn.
Locking in, uniforming, book burning, blood letting.
Every motive escalate. Automotive incinerate.
Light a candle, light a votive. Step down, step down.
Watch your heel crush, crushed, uh-oh, this means no fear cavalier.
Renegade steer clear!
A tournament, tournament, a tournament of lies.
Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives and I decline.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

The other night I dreamt of knives, continental drift divide.
Mountains sit in a line, Leonard Bernstein. Leonid Brezhnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs.
Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, boom!
You symbiotic, patriotic, slam book neck, right? Right.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it. can't I have some time alone?
It's the end of the world as we know it can't I have some time alone? and I feel fine...fine...

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it. can't I have some time alone?
It's the end of the world as we know it can't I have some time alone? and I feel fine...fine...

Xenu will soon come and take all of us believers off to the Galactic Federation.

That means no more Tom Cruise or John Travolta movies.

Same!

I didn't even know there was a new shift 3 weeks earlier.

Thank the Bush/GOP for that, ABC had a story on this last night, said that this weekends "time change" will cost the US at least $2 BILLION, since the computers are all set to change 3 weeks later, and that is only if there are no side effects, which what are the odds that there will be any side effects?|banghead|

The lame ass theory on this "brilliant" idea is to save some oil etc, since if people go to bed at 9 pm, the sun will still be up and they won’t use lights. Just ignore that fact that this is all based on data that is over 30 YEARS outdated and that more people wake up before the sun comes up now then ever before.

Just another shining achievement for this administration.|thumb

BTW, they said there will be no information on how much, if any, this will "save" the US $ for at least a few YEARS.|crazy|

Wait until bill S.2007-1883 introduces Double Daylight Savings Time which includes provisions in there for Internet Taxation.

Cleo 2007-03-08 03:05 PM

I really wish they would just leave it always to daylight savings time or at least just leave our fucking clocks alone.

bDok 2007-03-08 04:43 PM

so strange thing happened... on cingular I have a 8125 phone that runs windows mobile. Because cingular can't auto update it they had an automated call come through reminding me when to change my phone.
