My ongoing power problems
 

Our power guys showed up this morning to replace our bad transformer. We shut everything down just to be safe. And since the transformer could easily be seen from my office window, I had to watch.

The old one came down on a strap without incident. But, then came the new one. It probably got about 10-15 feet off the truck and the strap slipped off the transformer. It landed on the roof of the truck :)

I so much wanted to run out and yell, "better call homeowners". :) Anyway, we now have a nice new dented transformer on the pole. Fingers are crossed.

Wow, it's kind of like living in Florida but without the heat and humidity … or the beautiful ocean.

We get plenty of heat and humidity in the summer. A little dry in the winter and a touch of snow :) More like Florida without the ocean and hurricanes :)

I do have to admit that about this time of year, cabin fever starts to set in.

About 2/3 of all homes in the Keys are 2nd or 3rd homes or are short-term high-dollar vacation rentals. Right now about half of those are filled with kids of wealthy parents, all throwing parties and dancing around on daddy's boat in their skimpy little swimsuits.

I'm sorry, I forgot the topic... how cold is it up there again?
