DreamSubmitter - is it a joke?

Umm, ok, does anybody here actually use this program? Got if for free from a sponsor and admittedly I've only used it for one day, but FFS what'sup with this program? It's seems so full of bugs it's insane. Not to mention how f'n slow it is - what is is written in, VBscript?

No don't worry I won't start using it to submit my FS, just wanted to try it since it was free. Feel sorry for whoever paid for it. But maybe tomorrow I'll take it back when I see my traffic stats. I doubt it though

Bah too much vodka

I've never used a submitter, but I've heard some fairly high praise for Dream Submitter from some people who's opinion I respect.

MightyMidget 2007-03-16 12:58 PM

Uh, yeah well that probably says more about the other submitters than this program.

What I see is software with a lot of features, but it's slow, it's full of bugs, and its AI (read lack thereof) must be one of the worst I've seen (at least in terms of user interface).

During submit I even got popup alerts telling me "FORM error: can't find this, can't find that", and if you're a programmer you would recognize those as debug output. Maybe I got some sort of alpha version, supposedly it's a new version.

I agree, the user interface leaves alot to be desired. But the errors you're seeing seem to be caused by a submit database that's badly configured. That output "can't find this" etc is exactly what you'd want because that submission - when allowed to go through - would return errors anyway.

DS has its bugs, yes - and some annoying ones too. Plus its learning curve is steep. But it's by far the most flexible out there once you get the hang of it.

Not the fastest during generation, definitely. But submission is quite fast.

Also, if you got the latest beta instead of the stable you will see some debug assertions. That's because they're, um, debugging.

I used it over a year ago. Tons of features and not that difficult to use (just watch the vids first) but way too unstable.

Chameleon is generally known as user friendly and easy to use software that does what its supposed to do, fast and effective.

Submitter is people's personal choice mostly, you can try chameleon and make your own opinion..there are sponsors out there providing it for free - check out: http://www.chameleonsubmitter.com/freesubmitter.php

People speak highly of Advanced Submitter... I have tried them all and honestly don't really like any of them. I use multiple browser tabs and custom HTML pages and am becoming pretty efficient. My TGP (28) and LL (18) submit lists are pretty small though...and I plan to keep them that way and might even trim them some more.

zeta 2007-03-29 02:30 PM

That should work for the kind of approach I pressume you have, jonnydoe.
But some submitters have longer lists and are not quite "selective". An auto submitter can really make the difference there.
I remember playing with advance submitter and arriving to the conclusion that neat data bases is the most important for that program to run smooth and effective.

SeanPaul 2007-04-02 08:30 PM

Never, never, never use any kind of auto submitters!

They will only screw you and I found that out the hard way! |cry|

Build your own LL database and use a program that can process your warning pages and help you submit manually.

Wow, people can actually submit a gallery with that program? I got it free as well, watched the videos and spent 4 hrs trying to configure it and get it going.. I gave up. Havent touched it since. Although I did speak with Reilly and he was more than willing to call me and walk me through it over the fun. I have yet to take him up on that offer.

I just started using it again recently. It is pretty nice. Check out the tutorials at:

http://www.chameleonsubmitter.com/tutorials.php

prior to buying it. You'll need to look at these anyway if you do. It will give you a great overview of whqat to expect.

In my opinion I dislike having to pay extra for the addons - the confirmer and the partner account requester. I find that lame. The software itself is very slick, though. Sometimes I have noticed some glitches in it -- for example it gets the captchas wrong or uses the wrong length for the description. Things like this.

Even if you will never use the auto submit feature (which many owners dislike and find disrespectful) the manual submit feature is EXCELLENT. It will fill in most of the forms for you including the captchas. You then check it yourself and submit it manually. It really helps -- much like a glorified robo form. :) The database alone makes it worth it.

Negatives. there are quirks. I don't like the way licensing and restrictions are done (reinstalling will probably force you to manually contact them) Also I do not like the splitting of the programs to "upsell" us. I also think the database could be more comprehensive.

Hey man, this is Reilly from Dreamsubmitter, it sounds like you are running into some problems that could be due to the way you setup your submission. As someone said above, you will get form errors when DS comes across a user error made in the form filling, this guards against submitting incorrect information (most submitter programs would just push the submission through with incorrect info causing you to possibly be banned) Anyways, I feel you may have got off on the wrong foot and I encourage you to hit me up via email reilly@dreamsubmitter.com or icq 9635421 so we can schedule a time that i can give you a call and give you a personal tour of our software and how it works.

We realize DS has a bit of a learning curve, and in the past has been unstable, but we feel that since we released our full length video tutorials and version 2.9 we have really improved on these two issues.

Dreamsubmitter offers more functionality, efficiency, accuracy, and speed than any other software on the market. We also pride ourselves on providing the highest level of support for our users, we even do in person tutorials for those in our area. We don't expect your business, we expect to earn it. So please, hit me up and let me prove to you that DS is the best submit software on the market.

Thanks in advance.

yeah, i use chameleon myself!

buttster 2007-05-27 12:23 AM

I use Advanced Submitter but only for keeping the database of submit pages and recips and I do everything else manually 100%, its a great database for how I use it.
