Movie Trailer Lengths

Which do you think is better on a movie site, 6-20 second clips or 8-15 second clips, and why?

Haven't done any research on it, but I hardly think it matters. I've used 6, 8 and 12 clips while trying to stay as close to the minimum total length as possible (120 sec). I guess whatever means less editing for me. Depends on what the sponsor provides.

I know that a lot of MGPs are only allowing 20sec. minimum clips nowadays.

I don't think it really matters either. I use 4 per gallery of either 15 or 20 seconds. I just try to offer something that will spark a fire in someones pants and make them want to buy a membership.

I would think 6-20 sec clips. Of course I'm just a webhost, haha.

i always going for 15-20 i think that in less you just don have enough time to show anything. plus i don't think it matters that much, people even want to see the movie if you offer them a 1 min clip. The actual movie is 30 to 50 min so i even think 10 min will get them in. It is albout wanting to see the full movie. So as long as you don't show the biggest part andbest part of the movie you will be fine.

Someone on GG&J pointed out a while ago that if you use more clips then you get more exposure for your sales text/banners each time the surfer goes back to your gallery to watch a new clip.
I think this is a very good point indeed.
Wish I could remember who said it - sorry to him/her.
:)

Now that makes sense. The surfer's eyes are on the page more times....
