chat room hotlinkers
 

Hi all,

Just a quick heads up. i have been hotlinked by a swedish chatroom of all things. I am fairly sure they're blocked but the hits keep rolling in and i have checked my pictures using a hotlink test, which shows no picure. If you go to the site http://www.kkchatten.com/index.php enter anything in the box and click 'chatte' you will see they're pulling images from all over the place. I wrote an email last night to the site owner and their isp but have not heard back yet. I'm sure some of the content is sponsor owned and licenced so thought you would all like to know about this one.

wouldn't an htaccess file in your pictures directory stop this from pulling the images files from your server?

I have htaccess stopping this, in fact i checked the pictures they're trying to link and it appears they can't be viewed. Having said that i am showing hits from them but I've now blocked their ip address completely. This message was more to make everyone else aware of the site and whats happening.

If you have the .htaccess anti-hotlink set to allow null referrers, then some will still be able to view the images.
