The effect of image names on webpages.
Helo there, long time since I posted here, anyway I would like a quick discussion on the effect that image names have on rankings.
I recenltly popped on a some pages with images names similar to this; jenna-jameson (1) britney-spears (1) porn (2) porn (3) they are just examples. Anyway would having the space, between them have any effect? I know some servers hate having spaces, but im wondering would the search eginnes care and maybe rank me lower? would I be better of calling them; jenna-jameson001 britney-spears001 porn002 porn003 or quite simply does it not matter? your opionions? |crazy| |
Assuming Google has only the image filename to go by,
jenna-jameson.jpg would rank for "jenna jameson" jenna-jameson001.jpg would rank for "jenna" and "jameson001", but not "jenna jameson" jenna jameson" would rank for "jenna20%jameson", but not "jenna jameson" jenna+jameson.jpg or jenna.jameson.jpg would rank for "jenna jameson" Jenna_jameson.jpg would rank for "jenna_jameson", but not "jenna jameson" |
thats given me a bit of understanding, thanks halfdeck. i best change some of my file names :(

i would go for jenna-jameson-pictures-001.jpg
