Linklist duration?

I finally got accepted on some linklist sites but I do not know how long the my sites will be displayed? What is the typical time a link is on the list. Do you have to re-submit the sites at the end of this time?|confused|

SheepGuy 2007-04-19 01:14 AM

On mine you are listed as long as your recip is up.

6 months to 2 years seems to be the norm on most of the larger to mid sized lists. Some will keep you as long as your site is live with a link back.

Foxys Links is also one that will keep you listed as long as a recip is up. Eventually some of the "permenant" link lists might have to do a second page, but the link will remain listed.

I keep all sites up for the duration on both my lists as long as my recip stays put. I run my bot every now and then to weed out the cheaters and dead links but that's about it as far as removing sites.

Thanks everybody for the info, I'll be sure to keep my sites up and running with the recips in place.:D

Your link should stay on their site as long as you have a recip. link back to them. Anyone who drops you from their list after a certain period of time, you don't want to trade with anyway.

I have some that still sned me a little traffic after four years. But each may be different. I would read each linklists rules and see if there is a mention if you are interested. I believe in the past I have seen one or two who said that they would delete after six months and resubmittal would be necessary.

I know some people with in excess of 200 free sites, with the one a day rule they would never be able to have all the sites listed again and it would be a full time job trying to keep up with it. I hope they don't all start to follow this route...

With me You are listed for ever and ever and ever, as long as your recip is up

Useless 2007-04-22 09:35 PM

I dump your links the moment you turn your back on me. |thumb

What bot do you use to check links and could I use it to check backlinks?

Why do some drop links in 6months to 2 years? Is it because their lists are too large and they're trying to keep it small and fresh? Giving away too much content? Max of 1000 links per category or something?

All of those reasons and more.

Category pruning takes place quite naturally all the time due to people leaving the business or servers going down for an extended period, or even a short period if you are an unknown, face-less submitter. (One of the best reasons to be active on one or two boards is so the link list owners know who you are and are less likely to hit delete when the bot says you're down.)

Scheduled pruning tends to be for the sake of manageability and SE ranking. Some lists delete older links in order to keep the ratio of links out to inbound links in their favor. Some do it to keep their pages light and scrollable.

It all depends on how is the link list script is setup, but the best advice I could give you is to submit everyday for best results :)
