While not free I was very happy to read that Adobe was not killing GoLive and there would be a new version released later this year.
|
I use arachnophilia and have for years and love it.
|
I used Note Tab Lite (the free version) for a few years.
I was so impressed I bought the pro version. |

Deserves a plug (the software is, well, of no monetary cost) : http://www.arachnoid.com/arachnophilia/ The newer versions (for years now) are Java, and it works in Linux and mac as well as windows. |
I used Nvu before ages ago and had found it screws around with the HTML code when you use the visual editor by inserting a gazillion carriage returns... have not used it since.

I still use Netscape composer 4.12 for most basic stuff, it screws up code on some things but it's quick and easy to fix the screwups in notepad.

For our Mac using members who prefer to write html in text editors I can recommend TextWrangler (free) or BBEdit (paid). Both are from BareBones Software, which has my favorite slogan: "Software that doesn't suck."

Looks like they changed from using .php extensions to .html ones for their pages, Tatiana. You can get there by just going to http://www.nvu.com/ (which takes you to index.html)

Ok. Thanks. New link is work.

I'm using Komposer. I used to use Frontpage 2000 since I had a legit office 2k but.... forget that noise. Komposer from my understanding is just a bug fixed version of Nvu's final release. But at any rate, the price is right, at free.
Notepad is free too :P |
yeah, NVU has grown into Komposer. Its just NVU with more features.
It's really good, just hard to migrate from Dreamweaver when you know dreamweaver so well. |
