Merchant accounts?
 

Ran into some early trouble with getting a merchant account because Visa would only work with... Discover would only work with... AmEX the same thing... My question, for future reference, is there any web based payment options that would help us side step the issues with credit cards?

You won't be able to accept AMEX for adult sites. They pulled out of adult in April of 1999.

The other card types will accept MCC 5967 transactions, but most banks are reluctant to provide merchant accounts for this type of business unless you are already established.

you have to be more descriptive in what you were declined for or what you are looking for..

as Rand mentioned - Amex doesn't do adult... but to be more specific, they do not do adult intangible (downloads) they do however allow for the purchase of products..

In regards to the VISA, MC, Discover, JCB, Solo Switch ---- you need to know what region you are in, what the monthly volume is and alot more details..
