So I was reading through some stuff and it mentioned that fpa's are good to use as hub sites.

Been brainstorming today on some creative ways to use fpa's and really can't think of any other than just making a shit load of pages off of root with a fpa on each page.

I suppose you could use them on a site but with their size, might not work the best.

What do you all do with fpa's?

I don't use 'em. I prefer to load pages with lots of text add a few fast loading visual elements and give 'em some juicy backlinks.

I've tried using FPAs a few times, but with no success. If it's just a matter of moving traffic I prefer linking straight to a tour page rather then a FPA page. Gives me more time to work on stuff that's more successful.

Some people use them as a 'stepping stone'. The surfer clicks a link to, say, a gallery, and goes to an FPA instead. At the bottom there's a link saying 'No thanks, I want to continue to ....' and then the surfer finally gets to his original destination. I think this might have worked once but surfers are too savvy now and you risk pissing them off. I tried it for a short time, got nowhere, and don't use them at all now.

Good point. I can't stand sites that do that. Even when Godaddy does it, it gets on my nerves when your buying a new domain.

A friend of mine used to use FPA for free sites. He would download the fpa, hack it up and turn it into a free site. They looked really good, but too much effort when into chopping them up.
