OK, so the mountain is littered with trash and dead bodies. Some people are cleaning it up and you call them "shitheads"? You have that wrong. The Shitheads are the people that leave the trash. I know it's tough up there but people go there by choice.

Personally I think that anyone that leaves shit up there should be fined for being a shithead and sent back to get it.

If every group that went up the mountain brought back a little more trash than they've taken up, problem resolves itself.

Whenever I was out Steelhead fishing I always came back to the car with the back pouch of my fishing vest full of trash I picked up along the bank. Then again, I was only at about 4000 ft. elevation rather than +10000 ft.

A climber friend of mine once told me the problem with Everest is that too many people think money is a free pass to climb to the top; that too many people get up there and need to realize how dangerous it is and have to reevaluate what they're doing, and why, or risk death.

Maybe some of that trash is from arrogent fucks who think they can hack it but after getting there find out it's no stroll up a hill, but by the time they figure it out they're too weak to carry their own trash? |huh

This isn't just 10,000+ it's almost 30,000 ft and there just ain't no oxygen up there. Basically you're slowly dieing once you get above about 20,000 ft. no matter what you do. Pilots have to have to use oxygen at 10,000 ft. and the atmosphere is much thinner on Everest.

After reading "Into Thin Air" (a sobering account of a disaster on the mountain) I can understand people leaving some trash behind. Some of them can't bring themselves down and die while most people get some help after reaching the summit.

Still I think people need to be responsible for what they leave.

The trash at a beautiful river filled with steelhead, 2 years of trash collection would be an appropriate punishment for the low life scumbags there.
