Webmasters and cancel offers...
Cancel offers may sometimes be good for catching the surfers attention before they leave the site, either with a price drop or another feels-like-a-good-offer but how about you, the affiliate webmasters?
How do you get affected by this? What do you think about the cancel offers in general? |
I dont believe any affiliate programs pay the original referring WM for those sales - they are not considered part of the original recurring sale
|
There are some that do, but if they do they explictly tell you as it is both a decent benefit and rare.
|
I think I'd prefer a "since you've been a valued customer for X months, we're giving you a discount rate" marketing pitch then a "now that you're leaving us..." gimick.
I can't help but think that the first one gives me a better chance of making more money through more, albeit smaller, rebills by strengthening the relationship. Of course, if I could somehow make MORE money on individual rebills the longer a member stays that'd be great. |loony| |
With PPS, you can do anything you like with the customer after you've paid the webmasters. With revshare - I think that would be fair as well, but you might want to inform webmasters in your program about this beforehand. Either way, as long as you provide them with what you promised, I see no inherent problem :)

I think tushycash used to pop up a window with a discount when you were leaving the join page.

In my experience I don't like offering discounts. In the past it has simply = < $ for me. |

Also while we are at it: expiring credit cards (and declines) on revshare. In my opinion if you email the customer to tell them the card expired and ask for new details, I should continue to get those rebills since I originally referred the customer to you [and that many program's terms state: "lifetime credit for rebills"] |
BV - nope - didnt forget about them one bit - and most do not pay the original WM when they offer those cancellling discount offers - as well as most of the NATs programs that are recurring - they also do not pay the WM for that sale down the road

CCBill affiliate programs that utilize the discounts available in CCBill's "Premium Features" all give credit to the original referring affiliate webmaster. Cheers, BV |
BV - the point I was trying to make is not that the feature isnt available - its that most dont use it - as a matter of fact I just went through over 200 programs I use using ccbill and not 1 has that available
Secondly - ccbill does not show that as an option to affiliates to be able to see in their reports - so even if a program did have it turned on I dont know where any affiliate would be able to see it |

I know one of my BVCash sites offers a loyalty discount and one offers a cancel discount all of which are credited to the original affiliates. You can also look at the porn review sites and you will be able to find tons of sponsors that are offering straight up discounts as well as loyalty discounts. (the review sites list this info in their reviews) As far as cancel offers though, hard to tell. |
well the cansel offers i realy hate sexmoney for that, in 2004 156 sales and i only made 1436+ while i should have made more then 3500 their answer well they canseld , well i dont fucking care, but i lost huge money with that and i told them and i changed their links and never used them again , well i forgot some links in 2005 and made 55 sales and only made in real 286 for 55 sales, while it should be 1300+, their excuse ' heay its the same with other sponsors only they dont show in stats", if they take a trial an canseld before then you dont get paid" my ratio with sexmoney was 1.125 and they fucked me, well i think they did and thats the reason why i dont use them anymore, maybe its the same with other sponsors but damn i couldnt see it in my stats that way
