Thumbs linking directly to images
 

I use a little program I really like for galleries called Arles. It creates an image html page for each image which the thumbs link to. I noticed many submit sites do allow this. Just wondering, why is that? Security..quality perhaps?

I think its cause your building a free site and the surfer is coming for free porn. Shouldn't be messing up the images with ads and shit which would just piss me right off.

I have seen 1, maybe 2 link lists that would allow it, but don't remember which ones. I just don't do it, not a good practice.

I think the reason many don't like 'em is because it takes more work to check each page at review time.

Porn Junkie, I did mean do say they do "not" allow them. Also, I did figure out how to get Arles to link directly to the image, so maybe I'll get accepted more often now. The html linking was much faster, but we all got rules. . .

I think the other big thing is most people that use to do pictures on html pages also put all kinds of ads on those pages. So the surfer would get too many ads pushed on them. And it would also be another place some less than honest webmasters could cover in ads AFTER getting approved.

Am I missing something? Are you saying, on original galleries, the thumbs aren't supposed to be linked to the bigger picture? Are the pictures not supposed be linked?

Bigger pictures are not suppose to be on html pages, well most LL's don't accept those kinds of sites. Thumbs should just link to big pics.

Okay...thanks for the clarification...I was thinking that's the way it goes, because I couldn't picture it (pun intended) any other way...but the thread talked about hidden ads and that confused me because I'm a simpleton...thanks again..
