Politicians in the US are IDIOTS!!

Politicians in the US are IDIOTS!!
And I am not even talking about Bush who is the poster child for hard headed, immature fuckwads the world over.. nope I won't even touch on how bad he is.

Instead I am getting so tired of hearing Politicians talking crap about the poor. I have been very poor in the past so I am intimately acquainted with the condition and know what reality is for the 'working poor'.

When I was poor the biggest issues for me was;
how was I going to pay rent this month
how was I going to buy food this month
can I afford to put gas in my broken down 15 year old rusty car to get me to work
See? there is nothing in there about 'how can I manage to get a tax break from the government'. I didn't even think about health care because it was so far out of reach for me to even ponder the idea of paying for it was laughable. And if you are wondering there is something along the lines of 45 million working Americans who do not have health insurance of any kind because they work and cannot afford it.

Any politician who believes that giving 'tax incentives' to the working poor so they can buy health insurance is so far removed from reality it is a joke. There are day to day expenses that often take priority.

GROW UP POLITICIANS and realize that reality for the majority of citizens is a long way from country clubs, golf courses and tax breaks! Freaking morons!

If they have no bread, then let them eat cake.

Many of my friends have no heath insurance. By the time they get heath care it is often too late and turns into a major expense or worse.

I'm lucky as I'm able to keep a bullshit position at an A/C company just for heath insurance.

I don't know what the answer is other then, just like the immigration mess, what is in place now doesn't work.

Jim 2007-06-11 10:04 AM

All politicians suck. I am so disappointed in the Democrats these days that I may not even vote. No politician can seem to get anything done...except war. I almost went off on a tangent.

But, I don't know any poor person that would take a few Hundred Dollars from the government and apply it to health insurance.

Bobc01 2007-06-11 10:15 AM

Well if it's any consolation, it's no different here in the UK.
They can spend billions of £/$ on worthless causes like iraq but they can't deal with serious issues like crime and health.
I don't bother voting anymore and haven't done for years as whatever asshole gets in, it's never any different.

spazlabz 2007-06-11 10:22 AM

Jim I share your disappointment with the Dem's.. it is sad how quick they are to talk smack and then cave to Bush's whims... pathetic

Bobc01 - I am surprised, I thought health care in the UK was pretty good.

as for not voting because all politicians suck.... I just can't agree with that. I think it is defeatist, if more people used the power of their vote on a consistent basis I think things could get done. The founding fathers really set up a great system (except for the whole white land owner thing) and if it is used properly the populace has the real power. The problem is that Americans have become complacent and just accept what the Govt says.

We have given up making our elected officials be responsible for their actions and votes.

just my 2 cents

Unfortunately resolving the health care issue means cutting costs and providing some government funded services. Basic preventive health care that avoids the catastrophic health care that is the #1 cause of bankruptcy in America needs to be easily accessible.

Then we need to cut the overall costs of health care in general and that means removing the lawyers from it.

1 requires government funding for poor people which will never happen and the other requires cutting into the pockets of lawyers which will never happen.

We can only cut into the pockets of the middle class and can only fund projects for the already wealthy.

Not only the US politticians are idiots, all of them are... :(

I know I will still vote. I always will...but this time, for who? The Democrats seem to do very well with non-binding resolutions but, not much else. It's sad to think but I don't think the country is ready for a Woman or a Black President. So, all that's left is Edwards/08 :)

Heh heh I agree with you. I do however like Edwards and Obama.

I don't think Clinton is electable in a general election and I think Obama has a very unfortunate name to go along with him being black that will tend to make the general population scared of him.

That leaves Edwards and with all the hype about his $400 haircut it pretty much shows the maturity and intelligence of the media and 'golly gee whiz maw, I cun vote' crowd

Good points SirMoby|headbang|

however I thought the following things would never happen as well
  • A sitting President of the US manipulating intelligence to provide a cause for war and having the leader of the UK go along with it
  • That the US would invade a sovereign country that posed no direct threat to the US or its Allies.
  • An administration that would flagrantly break standing US laws AND GET AWAY WITH IT
  • A congress that would rubber stamp clear violations of the constitution to protect an administrations war of fear on the American public
  • A vice President of the US that would describe the Geneva Conventions as quaint and outdated
  • Americans be INFORMED of the complete disregard for constitutional law by an administration and not be outraged and screaming for an impeachment.

There is plenty more but those are right off the top of my head... getting health insurance for the poor certainly seems minor in comparison heh heh

Well yeah if you don't mind a long wait for crucial operations.

Everything here is fucked now, too many immigrants clogging up the systems and draining resources.

Most come here and get free housing plus benefits and don't make any effort to find work.

Thanks to our overly political correct goverment (bunch of pussies) the tax payer ends up loosing to pay for these fuckheads.

Property prices, the average house is 7x the value of the average salary so if you're not on the housing ladder here then you probably will never be.

I could go on and on but i think greenie and jim would charge me for the disk space.

The free housing would be in bad areas though, not recommended.

It sucks people should have to pay heavily for medical treatment no matter where it is.
We have a national insurance scheme here that everyone who works pays into which pays for the NHS. (National health service)

I'm surprised the US doesn't have a similar system or maybe it does?

If you look through history, the average man has always been shit on by the politicians and probably always will.

I think the word politician is just another name for corrupt, greedy cunt as in my eyes if bullshit could bounce then every politician would be an astronaut.

I was just thinking the same thing. My wife and I often talk about relocating to another country. I always say Mexico and my wife says the UK. She just can't get enough of the English. It was like she won the lottery when dish network started offering The Eastenders on pay per view. :)

Eastenders is known as being a doom and gloom tv show here, full of dull depressing cockneys with the intelligence compared to one of the fruit and veg stalls that appears on there.

The eastend of london is a place you'd feel glad that you didn't live in or near.

If ever i were to move countires again i'd move back to Australia but as far away from south australia as i could so i wouldn't bump into the ex-wife. |jester|

With the exchange rate even with the US $ to the AU $ you could do quite well over there without the piss poor weather we get here.

You got to love this :-) one minute it's there the other is gone :D

NBC has a video of the same event from a different angle. It clearly shows Bush taking his watch off and putting it in his right pocket. I was like everyone else hoping it was just the Whitehouse trying not to let anything stain the Albania thing. By the way...WTF was that anyway? Everyone hugging him and cheering for him.
