SE Submissions

Hello everyone,

I've been submitting my daily galleries to these search engine sites for a very long time now.

http://search.msn.com/docs/submit.aspx?

http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl

https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit

I still can't seem to get any extra traffic from these submissions.

Is it worth even doing so?

Thanx,
Teebs

Best thing to do is to let the SE's find you on their own. Also I don't think galleries are the best way to get SE traffic since the SE game has become a lot more complicated these last years.

Thanx Fonz,

I don't know how else to get SE traffic. Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Text, and lots of it.

Maybe have a page on each domain, or a couple pages if you have tons of galleries and sites, that lists all the links to your sites. That way if you include it in a few of your galleries or use it at the bottom as an outgoing link, it will get spidered and follow them all back to the link pages.

Thanx Virgo,

But in my experience, most TGPs want CLEAN galleries. Not too much text, or they won't list them???|huh

Thanx oldbrad,

I have a couple of main sites - http://www.canadafreeporn.com/, and http://www.canadafreeporn.com/tgp/, and as for the first one, I have a lot of my free sites linking to this hub.

I used to have a link to my main site on my galleries but people on this board told me NOT to link my main site from my galleries???

I have THOUSANDS of galleries in cyberspace, so are you saying I should post them on my main site?, http://www.canadafreeporn.com/

It would take me a year to do that|loony|

Submitted galleries aren't were you should focus on pulling in SE traffic. You're better of trying to get SE traffic to pages which list your own galleries.

Yes. You can start by making recip free versions you don't intend to submit anywhere. :)

So, in other words I should build another site listing all of my galleries on it? That would take forever, considering I have thousands of galleries out there. Can you post a link of a sample site so that I can understand this better? Like, do you have one that I can look at?|bow|

Cheers! :-)

All of my galleries have a "recip free version" anyway. So, do you suggest that I should start adding them to my fake TGP starting now and/or, add older ones daily? Is it really worth all that effort for SE purposes?

Not that I'm lazy or anything. Just wondering.

Cheers!:D

Any typical hub/fake tgp/real tgp/link list can be used as a model. They're all basically the same.

Once you're done building and submitting for the day do what you can to build up your hub. For the next few months it'll be a complete waste of your time, but after a while it'll slowly pay off. |thumb

would that be true of all search engines, even the smaller ones? Or should we even care about the smaller ones?

I never submit to any search engines but I get picked up by Yahoo and MSN. Don't know about any others though.

That depends on how hard you want to work and what you condisder a smaller search engine. A lot of the mid-level search engines are tied one way or another into a major search engines data (sorry I can not find my bookmarked page to show the relation at the moment). Alta Vista and All The Web for example are part of the Yahoo network (inktomi slurp and yahoo slurp).

There are some smaller search engines that you can submit to and there are some smaller search engines that also pull from the bigger networks, so it is up to you to decide if it is worth the effort. I do on occasion pull a sale out of a small search engine I have never heard of. It's not very often tho.

As far as the big 3 go, let em find you and don't waste your time submitting to them. They will find you faster than you can find their submit page. ;)

Edit to add: Before you even worry about search engines, learn basic seo skills. It's not hard.

Are meta tags still even relevant?

Thanx...for me the difficult thing is the conflicting and out of date info I run accross. Seems there's a lot of folklore about SE...Like that dude on Dragnet, I'm trying to just get the facts...|loony|

Yeah, good question. There are several meta tag generators you can use for free. Is it a waste of time? I heard that one of the biggies...Yahoo I think...still uses them.
