When does US summer lazy season end?
 

Hi guys
So it's bloody freezing here but you're at the height of summer there. Lots of you have cut back on work and are enjoying the warm weather.

I'm wondering: when does everybody over there get back into it? It seems to start on July 4... how long is everybody's personal summer slowdown? And schools don't go back until September or something, right?

I just realised I've never really known.

In Australia we hit Christmas and that's it, everybody is useless until about January 3, or a week after that.

Seriously, it's when the kids go back to school and more and more that's becoming end of August.

I take more time away from the keyboard in the late Fall and Winter. It's too fuckin hot here to do anything outdoors in the summer. It was 98° here today with about 60% humidity.

Yup - Labor Day is the 1st Monday in September & everyone gets back to work after that.

Hmm. September. That feels like a lifetime away at this point.

I always thought it should be like that. But most times it gradually seems to come back around then. It's not like turning on a switch like it is when they turn it off in the summer.

I am trying to get my ass back to work now... Been relaxing and slacking for about 2 months. Damn heat...

I feel like when your down that's the time to build like crazy. Get more and more stuff out there.

I build more in the summer as well, no hockey to distract me :(
