.ca domains
 

I've read a couple posts that say people should just get .com domains since others (.org, .tv .info, etc..) are no good.

Whats peoples opinions on .ca domains? If their good, any registar suggestions?

i personly preffer .com domains, however .ca .net .org and so on I can use for sites like cjs and stuff, thats not going to be branded etc.

"serious" stuff has to be .com imo

Paysites ect I think should always be .com
Any other site can be anything you want within reason since not a lot of domains get typein traffic. If I am however building a "main" site I'd only do it with a .com

.ca is great if you are making a site targeting Canadians or featuring Canadian content. For example, there is a site that has only Canadian amateur chicks. I think nobody has a problem remembering that it's a .ca address because of the type of content on the site.

Thanks everybody, thats what I figured as well which is why I didn't buy it on the spot.

I think you got a good idea Star, might have to ask for good canadian content providers.

All domains are useful as long as you know what to do with them. Plus if you have a good word ending with "ca" it makes it even better :D

I use 'local' domains only if I am targeting that country's citizens. But ALWAYS buy the .com version too and redirect it to your main site, because a lot of people will type in .com automatically.
