My First Adult Website
My First Adult Website guys, please be very critical as I take suggestions and comments very serious. I need to know what you think so I can improve. Tear it apart, Thanks again.

As i have understood this is blog looking nice.

I think the design is very good. My only criticism is that its not immediately clear what the site IS exactly. At first it does look like a blog, but there's a membership, which is off-putting. You've got to study the site to see what its all about and most surfers just dive in and then straight out again without bothering.
I think I'd put something in the heading as well as 'Where adults come to play' to describe what the site is. Free Porn Directory or Free Porn Portal or something. Cheers |
Few things ive noticed. In your text about why they should join you mention your software will get them active quickly, id change that to loose the word software as some surfers are worried about adult sites and the naughty things that the scum webmasters get upto, including malware spyware etc etc. I personally wouldnt use that word but others may not agree.
Also, under that text, put a link to join as thats what you want them to do once theyve read it id guess, as its what the text asks them to do. Also if your trying to build a comunity site, id loose the thing that says how many people are online, as right now that number is very low. When its builds up brag about it. Its like if your a video site with 10 videos, your not going to brag about that, but your you have 10 thousand you might. IMO. |
Thanks for all the suggestions so far guys, I'm working on it all right this second, also I have a chat program that I've licensed. Do you think it's a good idea to let other websites link directly to my chat software, I have a link back in the chatprogram so hopefully that might generate a few visitors?
|
Yes that sounds like a great idea! Aswell as getting you traffic, its makes your chatroom busier which makes it more worthwhile for your surfers!

I have a friend who set up a chat program years ago. He had all kinds of problems because he asked people to link straight to it. He said if he knew then what he quickly figured out he'd tell everyone to link to a single page that points to the program. I think it had something to do with controlling the flow of traffic and making sure the right people go to the right places and the wrong people stay out. I imagine all you'd need is a warning statement on the page. |huh |
Not sure if the program will allow it either, I was reading the documentation and it say it has a security feature that prevents Hotlinking. Would anyone mind trying to provide a direct link to http://www.***********/chat.htm and seeing if you can click it through your website? You don't have to keep it up I just want to know if it's going to allow this or not. Although I'm not sure how the program would recognize where it's being summoned from in the first place. Also, if you want to keep the link up by all means do, but I'm not looking for hand outs just advice. I changed the front page to include the link to the Sign up page as suggested before, thanks for that idea, sometimes I'm so simple that I figured the average user would pay attention to navis at the top of the page but they don't. I included the warning page which I think right there pops out at adult browsers and says, Hey, nude stuff beyond.

I think it's good to show immediately what the purpose of the site is.
|
From what I remember, chat programs can really drain a server and bandwidth, maybe they have changed. Also, why do you want it make it so easy for surfers? I don't know about you, but I'm here to make money, I'm going to make surfers work for it when I can.
