Question to LL owners: Is free site reviewing time consuming ?

I figure it must take you a lot of time.
Each site has 4-5 pages and there are many categories to review.

How much time does it take you ?
How many sites do you list daily in every niche ?

Greenguy 2004-01-30 08:29 AM

We do roughly 200-300 submits in about 5-6 hours (I have at least 3 reviewers working about 2 hours each every day)

The categories really have nothing to do with it as far as time.

Cleo 2004-01-30 08:41 AM

Yes it takes a long time.

Yes it is frustrating some days.

Yes reviewing sucks.

Yes it is a lot of work.

Ramster 2004-01-30 08:44 AM

An hour or two a day is needed. Sites open longer get more but a smaller link list just being started will not get more than 20-60 sites a day to review for quite some time.

Surfn 2004-01-30 09:09 AM

Reviewing by hand takes much longer than using a script to pre-screen.

kit 2004-01-30 09:54 AM

We review around 100-120 submits daily, it's take a 4 hours for one reviewer.

mogart 2004-01-30 10:25 AM

tell me - than none of big guys don't have any kind of spider software to check all submitted freesites ?
I'm talking about sth like AGS3 has ...

sth to "first check" banned html, words etc ... or redirections ... or sth like that

Ramster 2004-01-30 11:27 AM

Most of the link list scripts have various features. But you have to review sites as regular sites get submitted but have blind links, 8 links on an interior page, uses overexposed sponsor content or whatever. They still need to be checked.

No different than galleries. You can weed out via banned words, a sponsor or whatever but you still need to review the gallery.

Ramster 2004-01-30 11:30 AM

mogart, everyone runs a bot checking listed sites all the time for redirects, ect.

mogart 2004-01-30 11:52 AM

ok I understand what you mean :)

Reviewing is my life |jester| Fastest left click in the east with a memory like a steal trap :)

LOL

We do between 150-200 most days and yes it takes time, and sometimes it's like pulling teeth..|pissed|

We use a number of "tools" to minimise, pre-check and remove crap submits.

Reviewing takes time?
Never thought of it that way.
I thought everybody loved to get spammed up the ass, berated, and told they were the scum of the earth.
A few hours most nights I live for that :)

Ok, bumping an old thread again. |bananna|

Can I modify sites after they're submitted? I'm almost sure I can't for obvious reasons, and probably the script checks for this aswell.

But what if I need to change/add a link (due to a permanent link trade), optimize for SEs, etc? Or is it like "do it and forget about it"?

Greenguy 2004-04-15 05:34 PM

As long as the modifications still follow my rules, you can change things if you need to.

plateman 2004-04-15 11:07 PM

takes me a long ass time LOL but everything i do does...

I am fairly new link list but is growing in traffic and submits and being new you see new submitters that i check there whois info to check for free hosts and i check there out going links, pic. size and that they are all linked i even check some of there recips and my own, I had a guy that kept linking to my main page LOL
and redirects that are fooling blind links and all kinds of shit and it takes a long time to build traffic and some scum bag wants to cheat hits to the sponsor and then you have to look at sponsor hosted galleries because people will copy them and try to get away with it and it wont fly here...

Ok. But do you think anyone will blacklist me for that reason? I want to know if it's a sin like it's on galleries or it's a normal thing to do, and expected by the LL owners. :)

Greenguy 2004-04-16 09:29 AM

I don't know of any Link Lists that penalize you for making changes that still follow the rules after it's been submitted.

xfalmp 2004-04-16 09:58 AM

Thanks. That clarifies my doubt. |buddy|

We get between 150-200 a day and let me tell you, it's time consuming!

I've figured out tricks and such to get the review time down to about 2 hours. Can't do it any faster than that though!

Very time consuming - ask the guy I pay to do it!
