Page rank from zero to two

I'm not sure I understand all this stuff, but going from 0 to 2 is a good thing, eh? I've been submitting about 6 months now, and my main site is getting steadily increasing traffic..

yep thats a good thing :) but I don't think PR is all its hyped up to be.

tigermom 2007-10-30 02:52 AM

PR2 is pretty much meaningless, sorry to disappoint :) Actually, any PR is pretty much meaningless, what counts is the traffic that Google is sending to you from the search results. I don't even check my PR anymore after the updates.

If anything it will help you get listed in some places as there are a few muppets that won't list sites with a zero rank.

I managed to get a site to PR3 in less than 4 weeks with only 168 back links and where as before i got rejected for no PR, i've had no rejections since.

Yeah, I noticed a couple of places ask about PR, and some people will not trade hard links with zero PR.

I think that is a great thing. It means you are actively promoting your site. We have crawl before we walk. Congrats on the PR jump |bananna|

LeRoy 2007-10-31 01:20 PM

Wow I just checked my site too. I had a jump from pr0 to pr2 also. Yeah for me.

Fonz 2007-10-31 01:23 PM

I had a bunch jump from 0 to 2, and some from 4 to 2 :(

Sometimes I think pagerank is like the diamond market. Only so much is allowed out into the internet marketplace at any one time, so in order for anyone to go up, someone, somewhere, must go down.

Booooooooo!

I would have to disagree with this. PR is one variable in how sites come up in the serps. It is good to have a high pr but pr is not the only factor that determines where you rank in the serps. I do agree you really should not worry about it to much but do continue to build incoming links.

I had a PR6 for about 8 months, with some google traffic, it dropped to a PR5 and my google traffic more than doubled. When I had the PR6 the only other adult site I could find with the same rank was PK, so if it meant something I should be rich. Hers dropped in the same dance mine dropped in, somehow I don't think PR is what made PK a success, or hurt her when it dropped.
