Google assigning $$$s value to SERPs

This has been floating around for a little while on some of the SEO boards. Matt C. has confirmed that the information actually exists.

Some believe that the big G might actually start messing with the SERPs based on the $$$s.

I'm not surprised. I always thought a lot of the sites in the 1-10 results pages were running an unusually high amount of adsense campaigns.

Possibly because money making oriented webmasters also focus on SEO and getting high rankings?

I read the article and I agree, nothing but rumors. Also, why on earth would Google artificially improve the SERP's for people who buy adwords for those key words??? to make them stop their campaigns? just doesn't make sense.
