C.O.P.A. unconstitutional
And in another appeals court!|thumb
The Center for Democracy and Technology filed a "friend of the court" brief in a federal appeals court last week, claiming that the Child Online Protection Act violates the First Amendment. The amicus brief, presented to the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia on behalf of CDT and 17 other groups, claims that COPA places unconstitutional burdens on creators and distributors of legitimate Web content. http://www.avn.com/index.cfm?objecti...771490B28689B0 |
We get this crap here in the UK, do gooders that believe porn should be banned and the net reclaimed for people using it for learning.
It seems some people who have kids think that it's everyone elses responsibility to protect their children rather than themselves. As adult webmasters it's obvious we can only do so much to keep underage kids off our sites, the rest is upto good parenting. Instead of creating legislation against the porn industry, why not make it on the parents who are obviously irresponsible. |
It's a fine line.... Push the bastards off it!
