Basically the toplist is set up on a rolling 24 hour period, meaning that stats aren't calculated just during a particular 24 hour period (ie. midnight to midnight). If, for example, you sent a person at 8pm, when 8pm rolls around again, that stat would drop off. This gives more people the opportunity to be listed since sending consistent traffic gives you a better chance to be listed rather than someone forcing a bunch of traffic right at the beginning, and then having the top spot all day long without sending anyone else.
The list updates once an hour to reflect any changes.
