So many sponsors, so little time...

Like a lot of folks, I'm small time, and do all ny freesite building and submitting myself...no assistants, no secretary, just me and my computer.

I have lots of great sponsors because I am always looking for something new, but sometimes I think I cannot devote the time I need to promote all of them properly.

Do you think it's better to focus on a small number of sponsors and drive as much traffic as you can to them, or spread things around in an attempt to find new stuff to sell? I've got one or two sponsors that seem to have everything I need, and convert pretty good. Maybe I should narrow the focus a bit?

Luscious..I can only speak for myself and how I ma attacking getting back into the swing. Im working with about a half dozen sponsors, and trying to work all their niches in and trying to cross-sell between like minded materials. My plan is that once I can get that particluar set of sponsors out there and working for me, then sign-up for a new set of sites and keep plugging that way. I think if I signed up for every sponsor that looks appealing to me, Id be overwhelmed and probably lose focus. And I feel the important thing today with any biz, is focus and determiniation, so id rather be super focused and commited to a small number of sponsors than half assed with a lot more.

Thanks, man...makes a lot of sense. I love the fresh content you get when you sign up for a new sponsor, but I'm going to try the focus thing....:)

Thats where the overwhelming part come sin. The mind races, the thoughts get jumbled on just how you can submit it, create traffic to it, etc and that for me anyway tames my focus off the ones Im already trying to get out there...but I know the feeling, like a kid on Christmas. LOL

I mostly promote my top sponsors that have the highest $ per click. When I try a new sponsor I send about 10k hits and compare. That's about it.

When I first started in 2000 I made the mistake of jumping around to too many sponsors. I would send a few hits to one sponsor, a few to another, and if my conversion ratio was 1:600 say, it would take months to get one sale and more months to hit the minimum payout. Now I concentrate on three sponsors that seem to work well for me. I keep the traffic high enough at each one so I get a check at the end of every pay period. Not always large, but at least above the min. payout. I agree, it's tempting to move to another sponsor and I do from time to time but I concentrate on the ones that seem to work for me. And one thing I love about this biz is even though I haven't promoted Pimp Roll in over a year, I get a little check every now and then for some site I don't remember building...:)
