E-mail Client

What do you guys use to manage all of your email accounts? I was using outlook express in XP to check six accounts or so. I just bought this laptop and it had Vista, and this new "windows mail" that isn't letting me add hotmail accounts.

So my question to you all is which mail clients do you use and is there a way to get my precious outlook express to work in vista?

I don't know anything about Vista. I use Outlook Professional with Windows XP.

I have used eudora for years. I don't think I have ever used outlook.

Interesting that Microsoft took Hotmail out of the Vista client. Mac users thought it was just an anti-Mac thing losing the ability to check Hotmail using the Mac's built-in mail client Mail.

Not that I actually have a Hotmail account myself.

I think they lose too many potential ad views when they let us check with our own mail clients, and that could be why they're pushing LIVE. I guess there really isn't much point in having a hotmail account anymore, but I've just grown used to it I guess! When I think something I'm signing up for is possibly going to get me added to a spammers list or something, I just use a hotmail address.

One email account that I've used only for submitting partner related email and forum account signups got its first spam the other day. I was not pleased!

Anyway, thanks for the responses. Eudora is still around? I wonder if pegasus is!

I used to use outlook, now I use Thuderbird. Although I have been testing using gmail for all and it has worked out great. I like the spam filter. Works great even for the adult industry.

I really don't get why anyone would actually use a Hotmail account. Especially people like us that own domains. In addition the porn domains that I own I also have one non adult so that I can have a non adult email address.

Being a Mac user I also have a dot Mac email address but that is about as useful as a Hotmail account so I never use that one either.

The hotmail/gmail accounts just feel like you can be completely anonymous. That might come in handy sometimes >.>

Thunderbird can handle many identities. This way you can seperate your emailaccounts. It's free, opensource and pretty stable.

Another vote for Eudora here. I've used it as a reliable workhorse email client for 10-12 years. It has some features and some particular ways that it does things that can't be matched by any other client I've tried (and I've tried most if not all).

While I use Eudora for all work-related emails, I do use Apple's Mail client for some personal accounts. And I do use Thunderbird for sending a few messages a month since it seems to be the best for sending html-formatted emails to our Yahoo Groups lists.

And since we do a good bit of business via our newsletter lists, I maintain accounts on Hotmail, AOL and some others just so we can test how and when our mailings are received (or bounced) by those services.
