OC Cash - ratio skyrocketing

Hi guys,
I've been building galleries and freesites for 2 months now with some results.

I have been working with OC Cash. In the first two periods I had a ratio of 1:747 which is quite good for a newbie, from what I've read.

But in the last period, a strange thing happened. I almost reached the minimum payout (5$ short), and then my ratio jumped to 1:3147. That's a 420% increase over 2 weeks!

I contacted Chris on ICQ, but got no response.

I haven't changed my strategy during that period, so I'm wondering how can this situation be explained? Any ideas?

you'll have good weeks and bad weeks. Thats a shitty ratio but its only a 2 week period. you might make up for it next time with a 1:300 ratio.

What is your all-time ratio? And also consider how many hits you are sending.

It's not that unusual, and happens with all sponsors.

About all you can do is build for another sponsor, just to get a bit of emotional satisfaction, and to keep diversified.

Talking to the sponsor about it is a waste of your time and theirs. 1:3k is a common enough ratio these days.

And no sponsor can help you with low ratios. If one sponsor is bugging you, or underperforming, build for another.

In a few months you might see more sales for the first sponsor, and be annoyed with the other sponsor, and you'll switch back.

Bingo! It's good to keep an fairly close eye on your stats, but don't make major decisions based solely on short term numbers. I run my "serious stats" once a month, and they include that last 3 months worth of data.

yep. and the point I was trying to make was, did he send 3174 hits and make a sale or did he send 31740 hits and make 10? if its the later, than yea i'd be concerned.

I had only 1 sale in this period. Anyway, thanks for all the answers, it;s nice to have so many experienced people to help you :)

Yeah stats can be a funny thing. Just try to not focus on short time frames and instead look at the bigger picture.

All the best mate :)

I'm a definite newbie, with some good weeks and some slow weeks. Average ratio is 1:500 long term... sometimes 1:200, sometimes 1:1000....

Hey man...could be which sites you are pushing, as compared to what kind of traffic you have. Some of our stuff doesn't convert unless you have the right kind of traffic but converts really well if you do.

Also, as to the fluxuating ratios, that has been a discussion of the boards and a concern of ours as well. There is some wierd shit that goes on with the billing companies and how they choose to scrub, you will notice that when it happens to one company, it often goes in tandem with all the others that use a particular primary processer. This is just as frustrating to us as it is to you. Trust me on that.
