Sponsor content help
Ok, this is probably a really stupid question, but since the board says the only stupid question is the one that's not asked... :D
I'm new to the adult webhosting world, but I have some experience as part of the technical end of the spectrum. (currently work in the IT field) I have a question about sponsors...I have a decent domain, and a nice starter hosting package, and now I'm looking into getting content from sponsors. I looked at topbucks, for example, and it seems you need a URL and site, etc to sign up. as an affiliate.. Now, I'm curious as to how I get content from them if I need a functioning site to sign up. (Maybe I am just missing something? I've been doing research, but I may have overlooked some things. ) Am I missing something here? It all feels like the chicken and egg issue... :) This is a great site by the way..I've learned so much here already and you guys will be seeing more of me. Thanks! |
You could just build a page that links to a bunch of porn sites - I think as long as they see that you have a domain & that you're working in porn, you'll be safe.
|
Thanks for the info. That makes sense. I have been doing more research since I posted this as well. I have a little bit better idea now to of what to do.
I was just worried about getting rejected from sponsors before I get started! :) |
to be honest with you, you can sign up for bangbros, pimproll, trafficcashgold, kinkydollars....a lot of them, with no domain...it asks for the domain, but they don't check your site manually...I don't recall having my affiliate account manually reviewed...and the worse thing that could happen is they deny your account and tell you to reapply when your sites up...affiliates want to have you sign up...some will even ask you to join their sister affiliate program after you've signed up to one and haven't even made any sales...
|
Thanks for the info! I've been reading so much, so it helps to get some focus and assistance from people who know.
|
Yep that is exactly what you need to do. If you need any more help please feel free to post away :)
|
Yeah I mean if you have a domain, then thats 90% of the battle. I had my home page set up so that theyd not get a "coming soon" generic page from the registrar, but it just has my logo and some links. You should be OK.

I actually got some content and sponsors, thanks to everyone's help here pointing me in the right direction, and I got rolling :)
That's why you haven't seen me posting...been too busy building sites. Thanks!! |
Of course you know that using sponsor provided content you run the risk of not getting listed because of over-use..:)

I actually ended up building two blogs. I installed two instances of wordpress, and built two separate blogs, then I built some galleries, and posted blog posts to point to them, etc.
Not sure what to do now, I feel like I can be exploiting this so much more, obviously. I think the thing to do would be, as you mentioned, to build some free sites for submission. There is just so much information available and possible paths to take. It's crazy! :) There is definitely no clear cut way to proceed. I am having tons of fun though. I don't think I've ever had so much fun working before. :D |
That's good to hear...I'm by no means an all-star performer, but I have gone many phases...at least you were smart enough to go with wordpress instead of moveabletype blogging software...I learned that shit the hard way...wordpress rocks and it's free...it doesn't get any better...best of luck to you..

I paid for MT also...I can't believe they're still in business...it's a pretty decent platform, but that whole rebuilding the ENTIRE site, which generates HTML pages was pathetic...Half the reason all my sites combined are so big is because I'm still dragging around some old MT sites that still get good traffic from search engines...it's pretty crazy...MT sucks...but it did teach me the value of database driven websites and introduced me to mysql once I became familiar with wordpress...so I can't hate it that much...but I'd never recommend MT to anyone..
|
Ya I am surprised they are still around as well. Though I'm sure they are just a blip on the screen compared to what they use to be. They were to slow to adapt and evolve. You snooze you lose.
Funny it wasn't that long ago when they finally got around to having "templates". Talk about being late to the party. Ya it got me going in blogs, so not a complete waste. Think we side tracked this thread. |
No worries about sidetracking! Glad I got people talking. I figure, being that this is a newbie thread, people might come in looking for sponsor content help and learn to stay away from MT :) :)

I have to say, I've never had a problem with MT, it's never failed me. Also, when I think about it, at the time I bought MT, I don't think wordpress was really much better a platform, it's been at least a couple years. I could be wrong but seems the last couple years is when wordpress really matured. It shows how powerful an open source project can be. Guess I am saying, it's not like MT is terrible software, it does it's job and does it well. They just didn't evolve as much as wordpress did. Thats the part that sucks to me. |

Check some big TGPs, check hundreds of galleries. When you find something makes you a hard on, you should click for the "watch more trailers" or "click here to sign up" ads. Probably it will take you to a tour page, and there you should look at the bottom of the page for the following: "webmasters earn cash" or simply "webmasters" and this link will lead you to the sponsor page ;) |virgohippy| |
