Any good sponsors that convert for you on FS traffic

I am sitting here, staring at my freesites planning sheet, and I just don't know which sponsors to promote anymore. I do fine with gay sponsors, but most of my straight sponsors don't do well on FS traffic anymore. Should I just use my own content and promote my own sites/hubs?

If you have some good converting sponsors, I don't expect you to name them here of course, but some hints and tips and maybe even a PM, would be appreciated ;)

Tigermom, sorry to point this out to you, but it's just not a good idea to talk about what niche's you do "fine" with, you should be more cautious. Do you really want more competitors?

These aren't the good old days.

You might consider taking what is working for you and expanding on it. ;)

Nah, I don't think it's that much of a problem. What works for one webmaster doesn't always work for the other anyway, and anyone who is about to base their business model strictly on what others are posting is in for a disappointment.

Mind you, I see your point and I wouldn't mention any specific site or sponsor, and hence didn't ask for such information either. I think a general discussion of niches, within a broader perspective is pretty safe.

BTW, just had another look at my thread title, and I can see how it may have been misleading. I don't expect people to post on the thread and say which sponsors do well for them, but any tips via PM or just a general discussion about it is appreciated.

Also, how do others fair with promoting your own hubs/sites exclusively via freesites vs. promoting sponsors?

Have you considered building avs sites?

Yeah, I do that as well (thanks Sheepguy |headbang|). Sorry, this was a ranting kind of thread more than anything, just sitting there this morning, with a head cold, trying to plan my next batch of freesites and not seeing any shiny stars among my sponsors.

Tigermom, most of my freesites are currently built promoting pimproll which has plenty of niches / sites to promote. But, as you said what works for me may not work for you. I was promoting another sponsor before I tried PR and it made a noticeable difference in sales for the same work I put out.

So, it may be best for you to try several and see what works for you and your traffic.

tigermom 2007-12-19 11:18 AM

Thanks for the tip, Lowry. I do promote PR on freesites as well. They do ok, but not much better than that.

HowlingWulf 2007-12-19 03:26 PM

Hard to tell, since I use the same linking codes on TGP galleries, free sites, hubs, landing pages, etc. but there are a few that definately stand out. I use Stats Remote to order by $ per click and $ per sale over X timeframe, and tend to push those at the top.

Well, I promoted PimpRoll (also because Lowry pointed me to their address) for some time and unfortunately it didn't work out well for me. It just depends on your traffic I guess. But I do well with hentai niche. Interesting :)

Btw, I have a tip for you about the sponsors - add me on ICQ to discuss it a bit more :)

im getting to the point too where its time to switch out some sponsors that just don't cut it for some new ones.

Rather than ditch all sponsors that don't seem to be doing well, every few months I check my sponsors and filter out any sites that I haven't been doing well with. It's definately made a difference.
For example one sponsor overall is converting at 1:1662, which isn't good, but one site of theirs is at 1:943, which is acceptable.
So rather than ditch the sponsor completely I promote the "good" site only at the moment.
:)

tigermom, have you tried using Greenguy's (or others) stats to look for sponsors/sites that might work better for you?

Sent a message to your ICQ through the board, I hope it makes it through :)

Nothing came through, lol. Should we try PMs? :)

PM sent :)

I don't mind telling what sponsors I do well with. Traffic Cash Gold has great content and adds new content for webmasters almost daily in one or more niches. They're one of three I promote. Another is Silver Cash. $40.00 payout on most sites and good content to use. Last is Fetish Hits. Just seems to work for me.

"For the Girls" & "OWAMW" are 2 of my best selling non-indie sponsors.

Receptor 2007-12-24 11:29 AM

Umm can I ask what OWAMW stands for?|huh
