Alex Ovechkin signs a 13 year deal for a whopping $124 million.

Not bad for a 22 year old.

Now he has some cash to get those teeth fixed!

Hockey players deserve more!!! Steroid head Clemens got 20million + for one year! and sucked!!! Hockey is such a great sport!!!

When I was 22 I almost had that much on my bank account (think away the word million).

That's actually a good deal for the Caps - he's probably the #2 player in the league & with guys already getting $10mil/year now, him averaging under that for the term of the contract is a bargain.

I thought so too Greenie, I think its a helluva steal for the Caps...thats under 10 mil a year and with type of "low" contract he'll be easy to deal too. Let the next team worry about revamping the contract to meet the league standards for star players. The $124 actually surprised me, I thought he'd of gotten more.

But how the hell could he sign up for the Caps?

I could understand if it was for the Red Wings or another team that in the near future could win the cup. I don't get it.
