SQL Question

If I have a database set up MySQL (Banners) ..how do I get individual banners listed in it? I am not really savvy with SQL, so sorry for the NewB question.

the folder I have the banners in is.. /images/banners/

And second part is, once I have the initial DB set up, is it possible to add new ones to the mix?

Thanks

You just enter the URL for each banner in the table using the insert command. The harder part is writing the script to get the page layout you want from it. What are you using? PHP?

If you're not familiar with that type of coding, pay hotscripts.com a visit and see if you can pick up one that's already written. Raise it again if you don't get any joy there and I'll see if I can take you through it.

It's a monster and it's more than you could ever want, but it's free, powerful, and very stable. http://www.openads.org/ Formerly PHPadsnew.

UW, thats exactly what Im using I downloaded last week. If I create the DB in MYSQL openads will do the rest? As long as I add each banner to the "campeign"?

I created the DB "banners" in MySQL. BTW

Also UW, I know you wnated to have to think before you left for Vegas..LOL, is it possible to use OpenAds to show different sized banners on the same page ...such as the top of the forum here. Also Im assuming I can have it serve niche specific banners to niche specific pages?

Openads will add everything for you, in your initial setup of openads just specify the database name, database username and database password and you're all set.

I was going to say the same as UW. Open ads is the way to go. I've been using it for a long time, long before it was openads. There is a learning curve, but well worth it.
