Question about image effects
I have a nice sharp picture, but I would like the edges to blur and blend into the background as it looks a little abrupt now. Maybe round off the corners as well.
I have Photoshop Elements, a scaled down version of the big Photoshop, and my skills with image manipulation is pretty basic, but it looks like a fairly common effect. |
Im not sure about photoshop elements. But in photoshop you just use blending options. If its just a few images and you cant do it with your software. I will be glad to help you.

Hey thanks Hasbury, very generous of you. Let me take a look at the blending options in P Elements. I might just figure it out....:)

Here's how I do it (in PS):
1. Create a new layer under your image. Fill it with whatever you want the background color to be. 2. Select the rectangular marquee tool. Set a feather value that gives he amount of blur you want (higher number = more blur). 3. Select your image slightly in from the edge. 4. Right click -> select inverse, hit delete. 5. You're done! |
LD, Lemmy's tutorial is the easiest and quality result.
