A list to be proud of "US Makes Torture Watchlist"
"An official Canadian government document has put both the United States and Israel on a watch list of countries where prisoners run the risk of being tortured"

Part of a training program.. now thats funny.

If you want to read a good book about US torture policies check out Naomi Klein's The Shock Doctrine. It also mentions Canada's role in hashing out the "science" behind torture.
I can't wait till our conservatives are thrown out on their ass. They are probably working to rectify this "oversight" right now. They get hard ons standing next to the almighty Bush admin. |
It said the document mentioned U.S. interrogation techniques such as "forced nudity, isolation, and sleep deprivation."
Hell - then my entire life is torture: I sit alone in my basement naked for days and push porn on other folk and I can't remember the last time I slept properly. Fuck the bastards! |
Sounds like the Army "Conduct after capture" training, mild when you think in comparison to most eastern and asian countries who use drills and cigerette ends.

You're kidding right? It was a Liberal government that joined the war in Afghanistan. In terms of foreign policy that affects the U.S., the Canadian Government does whatever they are told to do. Liberal or Conservative doesn't matter. When it comes right down to it, us Canadians fear trade reprisals from the Americans above anything else. Sad, but that is the way it is.
That is the same reason why you'll never see pot de-criminalized in Canada. The Liberals have said they would do it for years but the fall out from the U.S. would be swift and unbearable. They know it. We know it. --art Quote:

It seems as though the US is the bully in school... But we all figured that out when Bush got into office and decided we had to police the world.|huh |

Next time, maybe we'll elect a bunch of tough talking kiss ass wimps from another party, just to change things around |huh|yawn| Aaah, come the revolution|bananna||bananna| |
Of course all us Canadians heard on the news yesterday that a panel headed by a former Deputy PM, Finance Minister and a LIBERAL say that we should stay in Afghanistan. Different party, same tune!
