I got this email last night ???
 
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Downloading of Movies, MP3s and Software is illegal and punishable by
law.

We hereby inform you that your computer was scanned under the IP
61.211.243.133 . The
contents of your computer were confiscated as an evidence, and you will
be indicated.
In the next days you will receive the charge in writing.
In the Reference code: #23650, are all files, that we found on your
computer.

The sender address of this mail was masked, to protect us against mail
bombs.

Yeah I get those too.

Seeing as I'm behind NAT there is noway anything is getting scanned but my router and I'm pretty sure that my router doesn't have a secret stash of illegal anything. LOL

I am so happy to hear that Cleo. Even though it did not look all legit to me I still was very worried.

Hey DD, would that dept. happen to be located in the sub-basement of the FBI? Sort of like Mulders from the X-files? LOL...damn, someone has alot of time on their hands for sending out crap like that.

I haven't gotten that one yet, but you bet it will be saved in a folder under 'most funny time-wasting emails recieved.'

Isn't it more illegal to impersonate a member of the FBI, in real life or online?

FBI don't remotely scan computers and then tell you all about it....

.... the time to really worry is when the door flies off its hinges and lots of people come running in shouting at you.
