Can you review my new link list nasty x links?

Im working on this link list and i wanted to get some opinions on the template im working on. My main concern is the java script im using. Ive made a table to replace the js, but im thinking maybe i should keep the table and the js. There is a few other concerns i have but im more worried about the js. If you will tell me what u dont like about this template I would be very thankful.
Also this is my template so not many of the links are in place yet. I just wanted to get everyones fill on this site before i put 150 pages togather
Im also having problems with my site in fire fox, nothing major but enough to piss me off.

The logo picture is kinda big - 160 kb while almost whole image is black is definately too much - I'm sure you could reduce it at least by half without loosing quality. Maybe its only me but I tend to keep away from java shit since ever. Whats more - in this case your script is using graphics instead of text. Eventually you could leave both js and table (or use css to get similar effect)

Other than that site looks cool - plain and cool - thats the way i try to make my sites

I like it! Are you replacing your other list, or is this an addition?

hashbury 2008-01-31 02:54 PM

Thanks Mateusz
I forgot to reduce the main picture. I will easily be able to cut in half.
Thanks Luscious
This will be a new list all togather. Nastyxlinks.com
Im going to keep the old one also. Im still a good 2 or three weeks away from finishing it though. Lots of pages.
thanks for the feedback

Looks good! |thumb
I like the fold out menu too. How did you do that?

SheepGuy 2008-01-31 07:02 PM

It doesn't look like everyone else's linklist, that's a refreshing change from the last few "new" ones I've seen. :D

It sure is loading extremely slow for me. Also you have some repeat on the top picture. So on my wide ass screen it starts looping horizontal.

I'm still waiting for it to load....That's just what I can see already. ;)

For whatever reason it takes a loooonnng time to load. I'll check again tomorrow.

Thanks everybody (even UW:))
TekAngel i used xara webstyle for the for the menu. Took me about 4 or 5 hours just for the menu.
bDok The main banner is probally whats keeping it from loading for u, unless your useing firefox in that case ive had a few problems with the imlive banners loading and some text color being out of sorts. If you dont mind be asking what resolution are u viewing at?
Sheepguy thanks for the kind words, us webmasters stuck in the 90's should stick togather (lol).
T pat Ive noticed a lot of people blogging now, and figured it would only be right (and bennificial) that i take blogs.
UW Ill take that as a compliment coming from u. thanks
I still have a lot of work to do, but i feel like ive gotten a good start.
Thanks everybody for your input

In the Safari browser your header image gets repeated multiple times stacked next to each other horizontally.

In your source code the image is inside a table spec'd at 1048% wide, which may be causing that to happen.

Code:

HTH

If you want the search engines to spider your category pages, you may want to use the JS and the table. Most bots have trouble with JS. I ran your page through a spider simulator and it showed zero internal links.

Thanks simon
I changed it to pixels so hopefully it should look ok now.
Spacemanspiff
