It's Not Too Early To Plan For XBiz Summer Session

I know most people probably won't need to know when the Xbiz Summer session is going to be as early as I do -- so that I can plan childcare -- but for those that care the dates have been set.

July 9th-11th at the Hard Rock
http://www.xbizsummerforum.com/

I plan to be there. Hope to see some of you there! |waves|

If your going bring me presents |thumb

Ramster 2008-02-13 01:50 PM

I'll be going for sure. This year my daughter is done her yearly dance finals on July 6th so I'm finally able to attend. Hoping to bring the wife too but either way I'm in.

Greenguy 2008-02-13 01:57 PM

The Bitch & I plan to be in attendance!

RedCherry 2008-02-13 03:51 PM

MadHatter and I will be there. |bananna| DocHolly or someone mentioned there is a hotel across the street with better rates, does someone know the name of that? Want to see about making reservations.

Comfort Inn I think. Room floors were very dirty when I stayed there 2 years ago for 1 night.

Vendzilla 2008-02-13 04:42 PM

I remember Alec getting good room rates at the Hard Rock every year, like under $200 a night.
Anyways, hope to make it this year, heard nothing but good about it

RC:
Alexis Park is across Harmon.. all suite hotel.
and at the corner of Flamingo and Paradise (Hard rock is Harmon & Paradise) is Terrible's. I think their rooms are about 50.00/night.

Thanks, I'm going to check into these. I'm not really thrilled about dropping $800 just for the room if I end up going by myself!

Ahhh Alexis Park. For years that was host to the defcon hacker convention. |thumb

Good spot and is really close to hard rock.

I'm putting this one in the calendar. |thumb

Good stuff.|thumb

I'm not sure. I've boiled my clothes three times and I still can't get the smell out from when he utterly destroyed the bathroom after his first dinner -- yes he had 2 dinners that night, don't ask me why. |pokefun|

I looked up recent reviews on a few of the hotels surrounding the Hard Rock and they all sound dirty and disgusting... I'll still probably end up in one of them though. |thumb

We are going on vacation in June so I'll be going to vegas solo this time, let us know where you decide to stay Preacher.
I'm all for cheap hotels|thumb

Greenguy 2008-03-27 08:27 AM

AHEM! |waves|

I think there's a couple more people - perhaps even a couple of couples - that are now planning on attending that have not posted in this thread :)

Useless 2008-03-27 08:39 AM

Preacher is a disgusting human being. |boobies|

It is my intention to go and have my wife with me. It sounds like I'll almost certainly be there, but now that she is planning a trip to Disney, she's becoming budget conscious and dropping hints about me going alone. I really want to stay at the Hard Rock. Both time shows that I've gone to Vegas, I've come home saying it would have been worth the extra $ to stay at the venue. She seems to disagree. And since she earns all the money and is slightly prettier than me, she'll probably get her way. |catfight|

docholly 2008-03-27 09:46 AM

I had the occassion to be over by the Hard Rock yesterday (see morning thread for reason) and I took a bit to scope out the surrounding hotels.

Alexis Park (105.00/night) is still the best bet off site from Hard Rock but the rate isn't that different. However it is all suites.

Comfort Inn (80.00/night) & Terrible's (43.00-70.00/night) are on the low end of the spectrum but Terrible's the better value $$ wise, CI is better, location wise.

There is also an Embassy Suites (139.00) who's back door opens across from the back of the hard rock.

If you are driving or have a car, there is a small casino, The Tuscany on Flamingo/Paradise that is pretty decent and has rooms at about 80.00. The "problem" is that July in Vegas is 117 degrees so really it isn't walkable.

I don't know what kind of rates the Hard Rock is offering but the standard room is 199.00/night.

Ramster 2008-03-27 11:14 AM

I am definitely going. Flying in from Myrtle Beach a day or 2 early. Likely gonna stay at the Hard Rock but the Embassy Suites sounds nice too. Gonna have to book my room I guess.

Greenguy 2008-03-27 11:28 AM

I might as well start up an official "Who Going..." thread so I can make up another one of these :)

RedCherry 2008-03-27 11:32 AM

I booked our reservations for Hard Rock, calling and using the XBiz code, and it is $140 a night, which is a nice savings. This will be our vacation for the....year...years, lol. Looking forward to it. |thumb

Same thing I did - got the room for 3 nights @ $140 at Hard Rock using the xbiz code -

Call the 800 number 1800-473-2625 and tell them the promo code is XBIG08A the rooms usually go for $300+ so its a huge savings.
