iTunes Help
Alright, this is frustrating me to no end. |banghead|
Every time I go to install the latest version of iTunes I get "invalid driver : F:\" error......which makes no sense since all my programs are installed on my c drive. |angry| I have checked for updates for my xp, did a disk clean up and have tried searching all over apple support and can't seem to find the solution. |huh I have never had an issue with updating iTunes until version 7.6 and now 7.6.1, I currently have 7.5 Any suggestions would be appreciated. |
Wait until 7.7 |couch|
Of course, Cleo will probably point out that her Mac updated to 7.6.1 automatically by driving itself to the Mac Store in the middle of the night :D |

Cleo is busy listening to her iPod and talking on her iPhone while driving her recently-repaired iVette and playing with her new racquetball iRacquet while deciding whether or not to build herself an iToilet.
But if she was here, she'd probably ask you if there was a small symbol of an apple in the top left-hand corner of your screen. And if there isn't, she'd tell you that's your problem, you need to get one of those. :) Simon (currently listening to iTunes 7.6.1, which did indeed download and install itself while I was asleep...but then I do have one of those little symbols of an apple in the top left corner of my screen) |

lol........no surprise. But I love my vaio and I rarely have issues unless I caused them. :D
Spent time going through the boards at Apple Support. Looks a lot of folks are having issues with the upgrades in general. But I did find one post asking about the issue I'm having.....nothing solved there. I even did what I did not want to do and registered on the board just to bump up and ask the same question.......ggggrrrr |banghead| |
I replied to your Apple thread. :D

Simon made me do it...

Guilty as charged.
:D . |
I was one that had trouble, after an update, non of my files showed on my Ipod, though lucky they were still there. I believe I ended up downgrading and haven't felt safe enough to update since. I always click no when it asks to upgrade.
|
I'm not a big fan of that upgrading...I download podcasts everyday and it's working fine with the software I have...the upgrades have been for pictures, contacts, and other things...although one upgrade was nice because it added software to convert mp3s to aacs or something like that...i'm just leaving well enough alone. What with the download and install without your knowledge? It asks me every time i open itunes and I just decline.

Yeah at this rate it looks as if I won't be upgrading. :(
I usually take the updates in case there is any security patches in it plus I like to try and make sure everything works with all it's bells and whistles in itunes. Just looking over the itunes form, there seems to be a lot of issues with the last two updates so apple has some bugs to work out with it. |
I looked for this thread to share something I just found because I was forced to update ITunes today and i was convinced I was going to have to format my Ipod because of it. Well I didn't. Here's the deal. The upgrade installed then I tried to sink my Ipod and it was telling me that a files was missing on my Ipod and couldn't be synced. I shut down and tried it again. Still no love. I found this tip in yahoo answers:
open the Task Manager - Processes tab. > delete the process "ipodservice.exe" > restart iTunes I did that and I was back in the saddle again...hope at least one of you can benefit from this... |
Thanks, I'll give it try.
