I thought i'd start the daily thread since I seem to be the only one awake.

It is supposed to be very warm here today. Although thats only the mid 60's, it will be a nice change.

It's a lot of catching up for me today since i took the weekend off. |badidea|

Good morning and I hope so want to try to hook the stereo up in my new car today.

Still a little sore from the long bike ride yesterday. This is a very flat part of the world, with this island's high point only being about 5 feet above sealevel at high tide. But the bridge to No Name Key begins with an uphill climb I wasn't used to, and that combined with a nice wind pushing right at me the whole way across the bridge had me thinking about blowing off that idea and riding somewhere easier. I'm glad I didn't turn around, as it was a really nice ride once I'd gotten across the bridge and picked up some windbreaks from the trees and bushes along the road. I stayed on the main road to the end and back the same way, with plans made for several off-road rides on the next trips over there.

Mostly I took photos of signs I encountered, warning people about "unauthorized entry" on National Wildlife Refuge lands. For what's it's worth, as a citizen I believe I'm authorized to enter all of our National lands, so I always find these warning signs a little humorous.

There are a few pics here if you want to see them, including a couple of shots taken on the trail which begins after the road ends. Walking under that big deadfall tree to get to driftwood beach was a little creepy. Lots of orb weaver spider web anchor lines that looked like tripwires everywhere, for those who know what I mean.

Wishing everyone a great start on the new month, unless your plans would conflict with that of course.

P.S. No Name Key was where the Cuban counterrevolutionaries practiced for the Bay of Pigs invasion. There are still hidden training locations to find there and the old men of No Name have some interesting stories to tell.

I spent most of yesterday smoking ribs...mmm, they were tasty. :) Nothing going on for a couple of days as far as I know. Wednesday is another important appointment.

Good Morning

Got a little bit of sunburn at the beach yesterday and slept in late today.
Gotta get cranking and get some work done, as I have to attend a funeral this afternoon for a truly remarkable man.
Heavy storms moving in this afternoon, so I better stop off at the beach and feed my birds on the way back. First on the agenda though, is a pot of pecan praline coffee.

Have a good day, cause no matter how bad it may seem, it could always be worse.

I went to an AIDS charity event last night and totally went off my diet with all the appetizers they were handing out. Bread and water for me today -- oops, make that just water!

Still dealing with this Cold that seems to now have gone into my chest so I'm coughing a lot but don't really feel that sick.

Not really sure what I'm doing today. Would like to hit the gym but not sure if that is a good idea yet so I guess it will be just a day of work and lectures from friends telling me how I should conduct my love life.

Was busy watch Clerks II since 730ish.. I actually baked this morning..made Churros for breakfast. nothing like dunked coffee flavored sticks.

Payroll today .. some errands.. that's about it..
