NY Jester..... I've got my eye on you....

:D

RedCherry 2008-03-17 10:36 PM

That is freaky. I had a friend one time over playing when I was a kid who ran into a sliding glass door in our house and tore her knee open really bad on the glass. You don't really think of dying from something like that until you read someone doing that.

NY Jester 2008-03-17 10:46 PM

Exactly Red..freakish stuff for sure.. RIP..

Spooky...better use two :)

Cleo 2008-03-17 11:31 PM

I've walked into my own sliding glass doors many times as have my friends but they have never broken.

Wow that is freaky.

NY Jester 2008-03-18 02:54 AM

Cleo, thats because the standards for glass doors here in the states is for tempered glass...different rules and safety standards in Europe, and eslewhere.

Bobc01 2008-03-18 06:27 AM

That's sad.

I think it's the same here on safety, they either have to be tempered or laminated.

NY Jester 2008-03-18 07:57 AM

He may have lived in an older home in that area of Spain, it sounds like it anyway..either way, how freakish and how very sad...

docholly 2008-03-18 09:03 AM

Mamma Mia!! that is a freakish way to meet your Waterloo. I wonder if the guy who found him was named Fernando???

sorry couldn't help the puns. Guess I'm just an old Dancing Queen who likes morbidly funny obits.

There would be a lot less stoners here if we didn't have safety glass.

I have a good friend that went thru a window during a bar fight about 15 years ago. A piece of glass gashed open a massive wound in the back of his neck. He was fucked up for a couple weeks but the bar was around the corner from the hospital, so he was fine in the end. I still have the shoes I was wearing that have his blood on them...but for different reasons :D

Also, is there a strange neck wound fetish that NY Jester is quietly letting us in on |couch|

digifan 2008-03-18 12:54 PM

I bet he was drunk or stoned... RIP anyway, didn't like their music. What a stupid death...

I had two friends who died from very freakish accidents. One friend went into his garage when it was dark and had to walk to the other wall to turn on the light. He tripped and his throat landed on a saw horse, crushing his trachea and suffocating to death. Another friend was on our construction site and a compressor pump exploded, sending a bolt in the air hitting him right in the temple. He was killed instantly.
I was cooking at a restaurant and a fellow employee dropped a huge glass container of chocolate syrup and as he reached down to try and catch the container it broke in thousands of pieces shredding his arm to bits. Even though he had over 250 stitches, no major arteries or muscles were damaged. We had to throw away a lot of food which was sprayed by all the blood. Well, actually we just rinsed it off and cooked it.

Ouch . That sux to go like that. No disrespect but I never knew why they were called "The Greatest American Band" anyway.

I slashed my arm with a plate glass window. Goes right though the skin so fast it's scary. Doesn't hurt much but its scary having to hold your skin together because you're falling apart and bleeding. The neck accident must have been way gnarley.

Sad... Brings back old memories...

Had a friend in the German Eifel who's son slipped in the shower and broke the glass door they found him the next morning. He's bee drinking and came home late.........

Ok those are some freaky accidents.. I knew this chick in college who was from Woodside in Queens. There is a huge cemetery off the LIE that has all kinds of dead mobsters in it tho i forget the name. Anyway one night she and her boyfriend were out in the cemetery making out, apparently a most common occurrence. So the story goes that one thing lead to another and some whoopie making ensued. Afterwards he went to the car to get a towel to clean up and the statuary that was on top of the headstone they were next to fell on top of her, crushing her to death. Her older sister was in my English Lit class and it was 1/2 a semester before she could walk in and someone didn't burst into gales of laughter.
