Good Saturday Morning

Good Morning
Well, today should be kind of a fun day. I have decided I no longer need a Ford F350 or Dodge Durango anymore. I am going out Cadillac shopping today :) At least 1/2 the cost of the new car should be covered by the trade ins. So, the new loan should be nice and cheap. :) I am looking at the Cadillac DTS Luxury with all available options in Platinum. :)

I just can't rationalize having a 12,000 pound truck with a huge diesel engine anymore. And, while the Durango is really nice these days, the Mopar 360 Magnum engine is far from fuel efficient. :)

I've been thinking about how much I love and how much I hate my Vette lately. I love driving it but I hate how much gas it uses and how much maintenance is on it. If I had the money for it I would seriously consider this electric car. With a range of a bit over 200 miles between charges it would be perfect for my needs. Now that Christine has her new Scion TC I'm barely driving the Vette but if they bring back the tax credits I may trade the Vette in on a hybrid next year.

My six month old Sonicare FlexCare toothbrush stopped vibrating yesterday. Called them up and they are sending me the entire system for free along with a prepaid box to return the old system in. The woman on the phone asked me if I had ever dropped the old handle and naturally I said never

Doing the gym thing this morning and then going to an art show this evening. Sometime in all of that going to get some work done too.

Jim I can feel your pain. THose two have got to be killer on the wallet..I know diesel here is at 4.60 a gallon..ouch..I love the DTS - I had use of one for a week last summer when I went on vacation...very sweet ride..and so bad on mileage.

As for my day..its got a full plate on the day. Hope all is well with everyone and heres to a productive Weekend..see some of you OTB later today.

Good Morning.

Jim, that Cadillac looks like a nice ride. I was going to buy a convertible of some sort this year but too much money got spent on the house here so next year for that.

Good morning world |waves|

There are definitely some advantages to working from home and living on a island that's only a few square miles in size, but has just about everything you need right on it, and a lot within walking or bicycle range. Since last November I've put less than 150 miles on my 22-year-old Jeep CJ, so it's hard for me to complain about gas prices when I haven't had to fill up the tank in half a year. Better than half a tank left too.

Wishing everyone a day free from the tyranny of petroleum-based transportation.

:)

Doing the Mother's Day thing today since my brother has to go to his in-laws tomorrow. We're grilling boneless chicken breasts, I made the brocolli casserole and my sister-in-law is making the rest. Should be good eats for sure.

Now, I need to sling porn for a few hours...

Good Morning,

Nothing but OTB today.
Jim, that is a nice car, my wife wants one. :) Maybe next year.

RedCherry 2008-05-10 10:43 AM

Good Morning All.

Cleo, I'd love one of those Teslas. I saw a special on the guy that designed that and they were showing how fast it is, that car is VERY cool.

I've seriously thought about getting an electric golf cart. There is a place down the road that refurbishes them. Most of my driving is to walmart and back which if this town knew the meaning of bike path, I could ride in nice weather. But a golf cart would be great. :D I'm starting to see more on the road.

But seriously, we'd like to trade in our Saturn Vue for something along the lines of a cargo van. It is more practicle for us hauling stuff, but still looking for something fuel efficient. Any suggestions?

Christine wanted something sporty so she got the Scion TC but I really wanted to get the newly redesigned Toyota Matrix. I may still pick one up later this year as a second car if the economy doesn't totally tank.

You can pickup this hybrid with up to a 12k tax credit. I guess once you have it you could earn extra money trimming trees with it or something. :D

bluemoney 2008-05-10 11:25 AM

Good morning all

Good luck Caddy shopping Jim! Don't forget the "Curb Feelers"

JustRobert 2008-05-10 12:03 PM

Good Morning :)
I'm with you Cleo on the Tesla vehicle. I have seen a couple of local shows about it and if I had the cash I would buy one. The JayLeno clip at their site was quite nice as well.

Wife has been sick all week and looks like she has finally infected me. Damn, I hate being sick and it has been over a year since the last time. Hope to make OTB but I may be sleeping some more :(

Preacher 2008-05-10 12:13 PM

Cleo, those are not meant to be used for hours at a time, only for a few minutes while "brushing teeth"|jester|
